c/o 2004. Of all the classes I took, Professor Agosta's was the absolute best. His lectures were absolutely mesmerizing, and he was very inspirational. And I am a very tough sell! I learned so much in his class - stuff I still know today. I've never written a "rate my professor" before, but for him I had to. Thank you, Professor Agosta.

I needed this class for an area requirement and initially had no interest whatsoever, but prof. Agosta made it so interesting that I got really into it. Definitely knows his stuff, works hard to help students who may not quite follow, and just seems like a genuinely sweet human being. Would that we had a dozen more like him.

Awesome professor...He creates an engaging experience with the lectures he gives. Worth going to class for. You do have to go to class if you want to do well on midterms. He does give out study sheets that are Very useful and he is a fair grader. The word "boring" is not in his vocabulary.

Wonderful professor and a real joy to experience his class. Amazing reader of poetry and he's always challenging his students to "activate the text." Make sure you PAY ATTENTION in class, it will really help you on the tests.

One of the best professors I have ever had. You must do your reading and you have to come to class ready to think and participate. He has an incisive mind and gentle humor and wit -- he's organized and boy, does he know how to interpret literature and teach you the skills to do so also. This guy is a treasure. "Activate the text!"

He is a great teacher! He encourages students to become very involved and passionate about childrens lit and teaching. Seems like a lot of work at the beginning but he likes to work hard first and it is easier. He encourages students to get work done on time but is very reasonable if something comes up. Encourages creativity and enthusiasm.

Excellent teacher--reads poetry like a pro. I want to attend more of his classes just to hear his poetry reading! Very clear and fair teacher, easy to approach. He teaches how to read poetry, which I didn't like before this class. He took away the intimidation that poetry gives many!

Among Sac's best for Lit. Demanding a high standard in writing, Dr. Agosta is nevertheless fair and genuine. He illicits original insight and leads students to find their own way through the lit. His class is far from a free ride, but you are taking a college course, correct?

Prof. Agosta is probably the best teacher out there for elemetary school teachers. I have been teaching for 8 years, and I still use some of his teaching strategies on a weekly basis. If you want to learn how to teach reading, TAKE THIS CLASS!!

This guy is the worst professor ever! "Work your butt-off" doesn't even begin to describe his philosphy. I've witnessed him (more than once) berate and personally attack his students for not agreeing with his interpretations. If you're the type of person who likes to kill yourself for a B and can just sit by with your mouth shut then take him.

He is a really good teacher, but he wants things his way and ONLY his way. He has no feelings towards anyone or anything and he only wants you go study your butt off and read the chapter books three or four times to get good grades. Overall hard class and tons of reading required. Very hard grader.

Professor Agosta is indeed one of the most intelligent, interesting, and passionate professors on campus. He is also unforgiving and unsympathetic when students have problems. He's difficult, hard, and has high standards, but if you want to learn and gain a new perspective on literature, he's the teacher to take.

Comment:
Agosta is probably the most proficient professor on campus. He epitomizes the term intellectual and you will learn more than you have ever learned in a college class. The downside is that you will also work more than you have ever worked in a college class. Agosta is VERY demanding. Quizzes (both oral & written) daily. BE PREPARED FOR CLASS!!!!!!!
