Extremely easy class. Two term papers, two response papers, one final paper and no tests. All we did was review the assigned reading for comprehension and watched the movie. 5 plays read in all. Don't take if you have a basic understanding of Shakespeare and want to delve into it more, but it was cool to see all of the plays on screen.

shakespeare: love and sexuality themed...good class but he seemed to be on his way out. not too interested in teaching so much. maybe that is just his style.

I took Early Shakespeare. He was fun. Not terribly hard, not terribly easy. Best assignment was to write a new scene for a Shakespeare play.

If you have a hard time understanding Shakespeare when you read his plays don't worry. Professor Adams for the most part goes over the entire play with you. You'll even get to watch film remakes of some of the plays. For my class, there were only two papers to write, so it is really up to you on what you get as a grade.

This was the easiest English class I took at CSUS. I got an "A" but I didn't have to work for it. It's a fun class, but I wish it had more theory and not just little games to play with students in order to teach them literature. I want to teach literature as a career, so I was hoping for more.

No one teaches Shakespeare like Mr. Adams- he makes the old bard and his language so understandable and brings actual fun into the classroom. I had an enormously good time in the class. Yes, he's an easy grader, but you learn quite a bit, too.

Adams brings boring literature to life! The day he read Beowulf in Middle English I was impressed beyond words. His class was usually engaging and the work load was relatively light. Overall - excellent, highly recommended.
