I took stat and I did well in her class. You HAVE to do the modules on Aleks and the hw or else you will be lost. Come to class with questions and email her if you are having trouble with the homework. She really isn't as bad as everyone says as long as you are willing to put in the work. Don't take this class if you have a heavy coarse load!!!

She has berated people for not knowing NEW material. The class itself is not that hard its the way she teaches it. . I pretty much taught myself the subject using ALEKS. The way she taught confused me so I stopped paying attention in class and did better. I would recommend a different teacher. ALEKS is the only reason I did well in her class.

All of the people who complain about Sexton just blame her because they're too lazy to work. First of all, it's the COURSE that's difficult. She is such a nice professor who lets you use a cheat sheet on exams, offers extra credit, and is VERY fair on tests. She's always available for extra help. If you put in the effort you'll definitely get an A.

Mrs. Sexton was by far the greatest math teacher I have ever had. This class requires work though if you put the time in you're guaranteed a good grade. Do not be discouraged by other ratings, teaching and making sure the class understands the material is her passion. Most deff take her!!!

I am the worst math student ever. Although Mrs. Sexton may not be the most approachable, if you ask for help she is more than willing to give it. If you keep up with homework and ask her questions in class you will be fine. First math class I actually knew what was going on.

For the people who say any other professor is the worst at SJC, they have not taken this lady. She is the absolute worst. I hate this woman with a passion. Mrs. Sexton is a horrible teacher. The class is so hard. The ALEKS homework is annoying. She does check her email but she will send you textbook questions and says that to get class participation for the day you must do those questions. I am sorry I don't sit at my computer all day just waiting for an email.

Mrs. Sexton is more than willing to help -she gets back to your questions ASAP. It's alot of work and you must put in the time, but it's a good class and she is a great teacher. ALEKS (the online program used) is also VERY helpful. You take your quizzes at home on your own time and are allowed cheatsheets on the exams. She is not the devil!!

Professor Sexton was extremely helpful, very caring, she was available whenever you needed help, and wanted all of her students to do well. If you put the time and effort in, you will do just fine, believe me! I recommend taking this this course and professor.

I HATE MRS>SEXTON. I tried so hard to learn the material but this devil woman shows no mercy. I only wish I would have dropped out of her class earlier. She said she would help in the beginning of the year but then when I needed her help the most I had to drop her class so I wouldnt lose my scholarship. This is just a warning, do not take her.
