Ms. Marian Aste is one of the best professor at SDSU. More teachers at this school need to be like her. Class seems hard at first since she requires you to buy about 5 to 6 books but you do not have to read them all just a small part of each book. Her class is simply amazing and you will get a chance to learn so much from your classmates.

She is a really nice lady and you can tell she cares about the subject matter. With that said, the class is horrifically boring most of the time. I felt I could have learned everything by taking an online course and not having to sit through hours of lecture. The assignments are easy and you just need to show up and participate. Glad it's over.

Mernie is a nice lady but this class is a disgrace to education. She claims to be open minded but your opinion is only welcome if you're a flaming liberal. She teaches equal distribution of wealth... which is communism! This class is all about how "evil" white people are. DON'T take her unless you're prepared to get brainwashed.

LOVED her and this class. Very interesting discussions, I made great friends too. I'd recommend waiting on the books and sharing them with classmates, although I kept two of them because they were so interesting. Many of the books are available at the library. Great class.

An interesting class. I took it because it is a required course in order to be accepted into the credential program. I think it opens the mind to all races and gender issues. The teacher requires four cultural plunges in order to get an A. Teacher does not lecture instead class is a 'round table discussion about the topics.

This was a pretty interesting class. A lot of sensitive subjects are brought up in this class and she did a wonderful job of respecting everyone's different opinions and making it a comfortable environment. There are a lot of books, but they are really good for the most part and usually you're just assigned one chapter.

A classmate of mine stated in her review at the end of the semester: "I was surprised to find out that you don't interview your pofessors before you hire them."--I couldn't agree more. She walked out in the middle of class DURING a group presentation-in FRONT of the group while they were presenting. Don't take her for this course.

Very eye opening class. Very passionate and politically advanced person. A great way to see education through the eyes of a revolutionary. Whoever said, she hates this woman obviously is unable to evolve as a human being and had a hard time with the cutting edge learning going on in Aste's class.

One word: Awful. I could have taught the class better myself. It did not relate to special education at all like it was supposed to. She showed old videos and wrote hectic notes on the board. Consensus forming was a joke. This was by far the worst class that I have ever taken at SDSU. Assignments are unrelated and I still don't know what SDAIE is.

Unlike everybody else...I hated this class. It was boring and repetitive. It was a waste of my time and money. It was like a flashback to high school history. However, easy assignments and easy A.

This class was interesting, I would strongly recommend waiting to buy the books until you need them, and maybe making copies of the one article you will read instead. Otherwise, it was fun and engaging.

She was a wonderful teacher. SHe used field trips to drive home the points of her instruction very meaningful. It was helpful to have her inspire me to step outside of my confort zone and experience many great new things. SHe has aspired me to do more for my community,
