Took CPSC 319 with her, enjoyed it and got an easy A, same thing with CPSC 461. She does have an accent, but her slides are enough if for some reason you can't understand her at all. Assuming you actually understand how to program, the assignments are very easy as you can copy code if you reference it. Go to class before midtermfinal to pass them!

She is knowledgeable and very nice person. Doesn't mind to grant extra time for assignments. She is one of those rare profs that understands students are humans as well. Interesting lectures, ok assignments, ok exams.

The course content changed to Databases this year, but she asked what we wanted to learn about and gave an extra lecture on the former topic (hard disks). Her assignments were fun and simple enough to implement, but her lecture slides were typically 40 walls of text. In its current form, her 461 class is a good follow-up to 471.

excellent course. very helpfull and usefull for computer scientists and programmers in general. it adds a lot of "tools in your tool box". the topics were the most intresting ones i encountered from my 1st 2 years in CS. the prof was excellent (carring, helpfull, motivating and a fair grader).I would highly recommend both the prof and the course

the worst prof I have ever had. She is usually late for class, unprepared, and just reads off a sheet of paper. Terrible accent and poor english. Often it seems like she doesn't understand the material she is teaching. The assignments usually don't make sense, and are hard to read due to poor grammar (this is ironic, since she edits a journal).

Pretty good prof! Her accent is manageable as long as you aren't watching anime in class or something (like some were in mine). Pay attention when she writes stuff on the board since it doesn't show up in the Powerpoint sometimes. Finally, the textbook is not really necessary since she photocopies the appropriate chapters and hands them out in clas

Could have got an A without going to class. She was often hard to understand, mostly because she talks at an intense speed with a russian accent (speed was worse than accent) . Also, she was late ~10minutes every class, making me late for my next class (b/c she stayed late to make up for it).

She talks too fast and with a horribly hard to understand accent. However, she's a nice person and is quite helpful. Her assignments and tests are a breeze.

Excellent! Really has a passion for teaching. Made this class a joy. Got me intrested and passionate about data structured and algorithms. Has heavily influenced my job choice. assignments took time but they were rewarding. only bad thing she got me interested in databases and that led to the Barbosa debaucle...

broken english, speaks too fast, very smart but SHOULD NOT NOT NOT NOT be teaching. Its disgraceful how the Comp Sci department is letting someone who cannot speak english teach students. No offence to her, because she is trying, but this is not a good learning environment.
