Very passionate about the subjects she teaches. Sometimes she goes off on tangents but there is a rich amount of info in these tangents.

5 page paper. Lectures are interesting but she goes off on tangents quite often. Fortunately, you only need the material on her lecture outlines. There are lots of readings assigned some from the book and some online but you can get away with not doing it or just doing some. If you are interested in history and need humanities, I would recommend.

Lecture is dry and seems to go on forever. Uses her own website rather than D2L, so don't expect to know how your grades add up. Paper and project instructions are very unclear, and she has a hard time answering questions beyond rereading her already unclear prompt back to you.

The class is fascinating and she is absolutely brilliant, but if you don't like history or aren't good at remembering minute details her teaching style is not for you.

It's obvious that she is both passionate and knowledgeable about the course material, which can make her lectures interesting. However, her time management leaves much to be desired: we were a week or so behind almost the entire semester. Good professor, but I'm glad the semester is over. Attendance, two exams, and paper make up the grade.

Professor Carlin is wonderful! She is fun to listen to b/c of how well she knows her material! I won't be @ this Univ next year as I'm transferring, but I would be in all her classes if I was staying here! The material is well-organized & well-assigned. If you stay on top of readings, the work load is minimal & the one research paper is easy to do!

Great professor who is very firm about what she expects. Be prepared to know Chicago-Turabian writing, very crucial in this class, and take advantage of primary sources. Only negative parts were she went off track many times during lectures, can be boring but she is a passionate professor and obviously loves history :). Recommended course.

The first issue I had with this class was content. Based on the course description, I expected to hear about the Renaissance period. That didn't occur at all. The lectures and information were good, but the paper was a hassle. I had spent time on getting online sources, because they could originally be used in a certain capacity, that later changed

Most knowledgeable professor I have ever had, clearly loves her subject and lectures are very interesting. Cameron was a great TA. Know the subject well, tests are essay, and a fairly detailed research paper is required.
