Possibly one of the smartest professors you'll come across EVER. He deserves his title to be one of the top 5 mathematicians of his era. Lectures can be heavy sometimes, but if you go to class and pay attention you'll have no problem doing the HWs. He cab answer any question you have on the spot!! You'll actually learn something in his class

One of the best professors I've ever had. 2 test and 1 final. 10 homework assignments. test are 20%, final is 30% and homework is 30%. Very reasonable, if you have any questions he has the answers. Pulls up some jokes in class. Allows cheat sheets for each exam. I can't say it enough, this man is a genius.

The man has plenty of jokes. Fantastic teacher all-round. His lectures get heavy at times, but his homeworks are fair and he's easy to talk to during office hours. Tests are based off of homework and notes. Don't come to class and you'll probably do really really bad. Be prepared to take notes on his lectures. He's got 367 down to a science.

He's very quirky but presents the material in a easy to follow way, going at a good pace. Reasonable amount of homework, and you only need the text for hw problems. Possibly the only good professor in the whole department. He also makes puns and lame jokes all the time. He's great.

Doing well in Theory Interest:read the book, it's really good. Don't need to go to class,but get notes from someone,look over any proofs he'll ask one fill in blank ? on a proof. Class is easy, but lotta equations to remember so be careful. Exams similar to HWs but may put a prob. from class notes on final (put/option) that wasn't on last HW.

Took theory of interest with him. Never went to class, but basically do the HWs. The exams are similar to his HWs so if you know how to do those you should be fine on the exams. Didn't like how he didn't let us use cheat sheets because there are a lot of formulas for 2nd and 3rd exam, but overall, one of the best profs to take a class with. Got A-.

Professor Hildebrand rocks! This subject could be incredibly boring but his pacing and leavening with corny jokes is just right. I am in awe of the way he returns commented homework like clockwork on the very next day after it has been turned in. He select *really illuminating* problems for us. Lightbulbs go off in my head when I work on them!

GREAT Professor! Don't overthink the work just use what you have in your notes to 'manipulate' algebraically into what you need. Take home Midterm, easy Group Research paper (no final), weekly minimal HWK. ALWAYS there to help, GREAT pace in class and very CLEAR!!! One of BEST Professors ever!..whether you hate/love math!! HIGHLY Recommended!

I took Discrete Probability with Hildebrand. He's brilliant (a PhD from Harvard) and funny. He always grades for the very next class, he's always well-prepared and well-planned for lectures, and answers questions thoroughly. He was also a Putnam Fellow (look it up; one of the five best undergraduate mathematicians in his time) in college.

He is one of the most knowledgeable teachers I've ever had. He teachers really hard material but presents it in an easy fashion while even taking the time to show us some programs we could be using in the field. The tests were based primarily off of homework's and if you do the 10 homework assignments there's no reason you shouldn't get an A.

Best math professor I've ever had! Explains material well, moves at a very reasonable pace, and takes the time to answer any questions on the homework. Very helpful in office hours. Lets you use 1 page of notes on each test, 2 on the final. Tests are VERY similar to the homework and notes examples. Proofs on each test but very simple/basic ones exactly like ones in notes/homework.
