I took CS341 in 2002 and I still use today what I learned in that course. Professor Nakayama was one of the few that I still remember to this day. Take his course if you can and pay attention. You'll be glad you did.

One of the best prof at NJIT. Really knows his materials. Took his online class and learned a lot. Materials are difficult but doable. Make sure to memorize many of his proofs. I found his midterm exam to be harder than his final exam. Do the HW for midterm + old midterm exams, and study the final review sheet for the final. Be ready to memorize!

Marvin Nakayama is one of the best professors at NJIT. Taking him for CS 341 was a great decision. His lectures are well organized, he goes through examples, and actually goes through students' answers as well. The projects were a joy to do and really made you apply the material. Really intelligent professor, I highly recommend you take him.

Took his class online. His pre recorded lectures were really well and he gives you all the material you'll need for your exams. Programs are pretty straight forward and if you email him directly about questions, he will answer you in a very timely matter. He even took the time during spring break to remind everyone about their programs due.

His online lectures are very good. Plus do the homework and you have an easy A. I didn't do the hw and got a B. Pretty hard class though. So keep up.

The material for this class is difficult but Nakayama makes it easy because he explains it so well. Gives 3 projects and 2 exams for online and vice versa for in person. The projects aren't hard and can be done in 5 hours. For exams, study homeworks and past exams, then the practice final for the final. No excuse to get under a B. Best prof at NJIT

Nakayama is the best professor at NJIT. He explains each topic with a ton of detail and makes it easier to understand. The class material is somewhat difficult especially towards the end but If you watch the videos and review the old exams its not too bad. For the final, focus on the review sheet and go over the old projects.

Easily one of the BEST professors NJIT has to offer. The class itself can be a bit daunting, but this guy does an exceptional job of clarifying any doubts or misunderstandings you might have. Has previous exams posted on his website and they are for the most part, exactly the same. Attendance is not necessary, but you'll be missing out BIG TIME.

Very hard material. If you're good at memorizing, you should be okay. However, you better start weeks before the exam because what you're going to memorize will not be easy at all. Projects weren't bad.

Professor Nakayama is so far my best professor in NJIT. He really goes out of his way to make things as clear as possible. His videos are amazing. He really articulates very well and finds a way to explain abstract things. If I could take him again I wouldn't hesitate. I wish all my profs are like him

2nd best CS prof at NJIT. Best online lecturer. Explains everything clearly in a way that answers any of your possible questions. Strict grader, but he curved some in the end. He posts EVERYTHING on his site. 3 easy-ish projs. Midterm = his suggested HW probs + past exams. Final = final study guide. MEMORIZE every concept and proof used in them.

Super clear but hard material. Fair grader but not easy. Only guy who teaches this course so you really don't have any options but overall its doable all you have to do is do the projects and study the old exams/quizzes he posts.

Reads off slides and expects you to memorize pages of proofs. Programming assignments are a joke. A bit strict and somewhat of a harsh grader. Supposedly doesn't curve. For exams, look over past semester exams and memorize proofs. If you're good at memorizing stuff, the class won't be difficult. Else, then start memorizing weeks in advance. 7/10

It is a very difficult course, but he gives you all the material you need to ace the exams. He goes through every proof thoroughly. The homeworks are a joke.. if it took you more than an hour to complete, consider switching majors.

This class is one of the hardest CS classes you will take at NJIT. Even if you cram the material hours before each exam, you will end up with a B/C. You should be prepared for exams, have the 2 programs finished ahead of time, and avoid taking this class with CS 435 (another hard CS class). Nakayama is strict for no reason. He doesn't even curve.

This course combines Statistics and Probability with some computer techniques. Professor uses some real world example to illustrate the material. If you are good at Sta&Prob, you will be fine. Overall, this class is good but exams are tough.

This is a tough class, but he is a great teacher. There are 2 programming assignments which are very easy, but are really meant to reinforce the material. To get an A on the midterm go over all the past midterms and memorize the proofs. Start prepping for the midterm 3 weeks in advance for memorization. For the final, study thefinal review examples
