Signora Refling is a truly great teacher, at first there may seem like a lot of work to do but she is very fair and Always gives extra help to those who need it. She lets you know exactly what will be on tests and quizzes and the due dates for language lab assigns can be turned in up to a week late! She is very vivacious and Loves what she teaches!

Refling is an amazing teacher and mentor. She does her job extremely well. Aside from being an informative professor, Refling works very hard so that her students recieve fair grades. She is very approachable and friendly. If I could take this class twice I would! If you are taking any Italian sections which Refling is teaching, TAKE HER!!!!!!!

Refling's intermediate Italian I class is by far the best and most informative class I have taken so far at Fordham. She is very clear and comprehensive. She is always willing to provide extra help and is very fair with her grading. Refling is the reason why I switched my major to Italian. Take any and all of her classes, you will be thankful later

Dott. Refling's classes, both intermediate Italian I and intermediate Italian II have been the most useful classes I have taken both in college and life! Her teaching style is very fair and she is very flexible. She does not play any tricks on her students and is an excellent mentor. If you take Italian, Dott. Refling is your best bet.

She is definitely a great professor who teaches Italian well. Those who hate her are usually the slackers in every other class. Don't listen to them! I've taken Italian for a couple of years, and by far, she is the only professor who explains the language with clarity while reinforcing students to talk in Italian. She is the best!!

Mary Refling is an ABSOLUTE JOY. I love her to death and wish she was a member of my family. I loved having her in class. She is just so enthusiastic about it. Her tests are completely straightforward and you can do extracredit workbook pages for 8 pts on 3 out of 4 tests. She is so much fun to have in class....TAKE HER!!

tons of work and it moves extremely quickly..labs are useless, yet her class isn't dull becasue if you stop paying attention for a second you'll be lost for the rest of the semester..moderate grader...yet i prefer her teaching style-she is constantly asking questions and calling on people to answer..its impossible to sit quietly in the corner-

She is a good teacher. The class is rushed because too much material needs to be covered in one semester. Quizes require studying, lots of hw, and strict attendance policy. Overall it's not too bad though.

She's the best professor I've had @ fordham. She actually WANTS you to pass, she'll help you in whatever way she can to help you get a good grade. She'll give you free skips and 8 pts for doing the workbook chapters and has review days 1x a week if you want her to help you further. Nicest person @ Fordham.

In my opinion, she's one of Fordham's best, and this class was the most intellectually stimulating of all I've taken thus far. Right from the get-go, you can tell she'll be tough and many kids dropped the class the first week, huge mistake. If you're looking for a class that makes you think, take her; if you're looking for an easy A, you miss out.

study and memorize all of the tenses she goes over in class as well as vocab she suggests you know. a couple of essays assigned summarizing the plot/describing characters of movies we watched in class. midterm, final, oral part of final, a few quizzes, some in class, some online. not an awful professor, but certainly not the best

TAKEING HER CLASS AS A FRESHAMN IS DEF. OVERWHELMING. IM FLUENT IN ITALIAN AND HAVE A TOUGH TIME WITH ALL HER GRAMMAR. SHE TENDS TO PICK A FEW FAVORITES IN THE CLASS AND GEAR THE CLASS TOWARDS THEM. VERY FRIENDLY PERSON, DOES NOT DO MUCH TO HELP A STRUGGLING STUDENT THO. REMAIN CAUTIOUS!

Comment:
She is very odd; she is obsessed with Italy. She knows a lot though, which isn't always a bad thing. You must be able to speak Italian and know your stuff. Class participation and attendance is vital in this class. She'll penalize you a lot if you don't utilize the two. The work isn't that bad either.
