This course could be a great learning experience for someone who is not a history buff. However he questions parts of history that are factual. If you are not on his side he will say you are wrong. His comments are convoluted. Expect inappropriate and just uncalled for comments on your assignments, even if you receive an A or B on them.

Highly recommend. Classes may come across as intimidating to some because he calls people to respond at times (and tear things apart, even if you have a decent answer). But these experiences made me grow SO MUCH as a student. Overall, take his class because you want to grow as a student and scholar, not because you are looking for an easy A.

Professor Pinsker was one of the best teachers that I've ever had. It was clear from the beginning that if you worked hard, you would receive a good grade. He was fair and you got what you put in. Intelligent, knew more about history then anyone I've ever met. Jokes were VERY funny.

Professor Pinsker is intelligent, but his arrogance overshadows this. Expect to have to not only do the assigned readings, but also participate regularly to do well. However, he looks for very specific answers to the questions posed during lecture. Intimidating and spends many classes picking apart the textbook.

Pinsker is fair and completely reasonable if you put in the effort to match his. if you read and take advantage of his help the course is placed at a perfect difficulty level. i learned more in this class than i ever have, and he makes the field trips fun. take this class!

Pinsker is a genius! But I would not take this class if you are looking for an easy A. He demands a lot and to participate in class all reading must be done. You will learn so much from him despite how challenging the material will be. Take this class only if toy know what you're getting into.

Professor Pinsker is an extremely approachable individual of immense intelligence. Perhaps you are too young and immature to appreciate what a truly gifted teacher Pinsker is. I had him at a summer institute and was very impressed at how approachable, knowledgable and sincere he is. Too bad you all have so little respect for your professors.

Generally a good teacher. He tends to look for overly specific answers to questions he poses in class. Very stingy with grades. Kind of a **** (but perhaps in a good way to a degree). Generally helpful but not always friendly/approachable.

Professor Pinsker is not an "amazing" professor and far from a genius. Rather, he is an arrogant man who obviously does not want to be teaching. He is simply not good at what he does. Save your time and read a high school-level American history textbook. That is essentially what you will get out of any of his courses.

Professor Pinsker is without a doubt the BEST professor in the History department, and that says a lot because the history department at ****inson is LOADED with great professors. His class is difficult but he has an intriguing way of inspiring you to work harder.

Professor Pinsker was one of the best professors I have ever had the opportunity to take. He challenged students to think about the subject and analyze sources as well as learning the subject matter. He evaluated students in a rigorous but fair manner and I am prouder of my grade in his class than I am of numerous superior grades.

He is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He's incredibly pompous. Your opinion is never right - only his. I went to him for help one time and all he did was tell me how badly I wrote. He is never happy with your work and grades impossibly. Don't ever ever take him!!!

Gotta admit- his classes are hard. he expects you to be prepared and alert in class- don't sit there looking stupid- that's a sure way to know he'll ask you to contribute to a discussion. This being said, his class is very rewarding too- you'll learn alot and getting an A in his class is the best feeling ever. definitely worth the time and effort.
