Assuming you're a good student, this is an easy A. You go over a lot of good concepts that you should have down cold for health professions. I took it as a pre-med and am definitely glad I did.

I was going to say run away, but stick it through because you may be surprised. I did terrible on her first test and considered withdrawing. I pushed through and made a B. There's hope so don't give up. She's really nice and holds a ton of reviews. She wants you to suceed. She speaks slowly but moves very fast. Take good notes, form study groups!

Skilled lecturer, always prepared, tests are very fair. Make notecards and understand the material. There are no tricks or traps, just knowledge mixed with a little bit of required critical thinking. She is excellent and I'm kinda in love with her.

I loved this class. She really made the subject interesting and explained concepts in such a way that made the material easier (and by no means is microbiology easy)Her tests come straight from the reading guides and sections she asks you to read from the book. Very helpful professor. Would recommend this course to anyone willing to put in the work

Comment:

Ms. Lowder is a genuinely sweet lady. She's a little bit too structured and sometimes little bit robotic, but that's kind of what makes her enjoyable. She will check every single word you write down on homeworks etc. She tells you exactly what she wants, so it's easy to do well on the paper/notebook. Midterm/final are hard as hell though.

She is very straightforward with all of the material. Her tests came from all of her notes. You will have to write down some of her notes as she talks because they are not all on the powerpoints. Overall she is a good teacher and the class is not that difficult if you put worth some effort. I would recommend her class it is very interesting.

The reason why lot of people fell easy is because 1273 is different then 2273. As many people said, stright forward teacher. But the class is not as easy as many people said. Also, She is the first teacher I meet do not give exams back!! Thus, if you take BIOL 2273 as elective, drop it!!!

Probably the most professional teacher I've ever had, and she doesn't play favorites (refreshing). She DEFINITELY walks the straight line, so don't expect any freebies or to be able to hand in work late. Do your work on time, go to class every day, follow her instructions, and you will get an A. It's just that simple.

I found the class material quite boring but it is not hard to understand if you pay attention during class and study your notes. No textbook is needed, everything comes from her notes. Attendance not required but is neccessary for achieving an A. Final exam is general and easier than her tests. DO ALL EXTRA CREDIT and complete writing assignments

I loved her. The class was difficult but interesting. An A wasnt that hard to get. Go to class, study the notes, and go the extra credit- you will do fine in the class. And she is very helpful if you need and help. No need to buy a textbook, all questions are from the notes. So that shows how important class attendance is! I would recommend!

Attendance not mandatory, but going to class is a must. Her tests do come straight from the notes, but they are each on at least 8 chapters. If you want an A you have to put a lot of studying each week into it, not just the night before the exam. Writing assignment 2 was graded too harshly. I'd say take it somewhere else.

Don't buy the textbook! She goes exactly by the study packet. She's good in the sense that she only tests on things that she's covered. She's kinda annoying though. She talks R-E-A-L-L-Y slow and sometimes makes you sound retarded when you ask a question. Overall, it's a great class though. Easy A. If you do the work, that is.

Simple rules to follow if you take this class with M. Lowder: 1) attend each and every class; 2) do the reading of her lectures; 3) ask her questions if unsure. M.Lowder is very precise and clear in her lectures. Very easy to understand. Would highly recommend her. Oh, yes, she loves her subject and is very knowledgable in it.
