Comment:

Dr. Calhoun's Global class was my favorite class during my first year. As long as you keep up with the readings, participate, and most importantly TRY, you'll do fine. If I could take the class again with him, I would.

Comment:

As an international student, his class probably would be the most useful class I have. He's not focusing on memorization, he emphasized on understanding and required his students seeking facts behind things or events. He taught us the way of thinking and led us beyond the intelligence trap (which is important in his class). He's nice and patience.

I absolutely loved Prof Calhouns class. He really knows his material and is a fascinating person himself. This class was extremely interesting and was fairly easy. There is quite a bit of reading but few papers or tests and tests were very straightforward. I definitely recommend!

Comment:

This class really changed the way I view things and was my absolute favorite class. Dr. Calhoun really teaches students how to think well and outside of the box. You discuss a lot of topics that you would never have considered before from this class and he approaches it from a non-status quo point of view.

Comment:

He keeps you interested in class that's for sure. The projects he gives are somewhat out there, but end up being super interesting and come to an end all together at the end of the course. No tests just lots of articles to read and assignments to write up. I don't want to miss class usually because he's interesting to listen to!

He's an awesome guy. He has a ton of crazy stories that keep class interesting. Sometimes it's not entirely clear what he's teaching but it's definitely not hard to listen to him talk about his life. He's really chill and nice. Would definitely take him again! Too bad he's retiring next year though.

Dr. Calhoun is probably the best professor at Elon. He challenges you to look at the world and think in a different way. His class is super interesting. His stories are crazy, I'm convinced he was some CIA spy at one point in his life. He is The Most Interesting Man. If all of my classes were taught by this guy I would never skip a day of class.

Despite only being in class for half a semester, this was by far my favorite class of the year. Calhoun is hilarious and tells the best stories. You might not learn a lot, but as my 5th health class I was fine with that cause class was so entertaining. HW is super easy, but the final was unexpectedly hard, and most of my class struggled with it.

This guy is is the man. He tells crazy stories which are very entertaining. His class is really interesting and does not give a lot of work what so ever. Every assignment he gives you is very straight forward. BEST teacher I've had at elon so far take this class!! NO test No problem!

NO TEST=NO PROBLEM! This guy is the real deal. He is the smartest professor elon has to offer and he wants you to be CREATIVE. His assignments given are always interesting and everyday you'll learn something about the world that you never even thought about. Global, Masculinity, and Human Sexuality- all of them are highly recommended!

He is THE MAN!!!! Greatest teacher I've had so far at ELON. I recommend him to anyone and everyone. He makes you think outside the box and you really learn a lot. Plus his beard is perfect.
