I loved this class. His grading is clear and I thought the work load was definitely appropriate. I enjoyed all the readings and the homework is simple just time consuming! Come to class, homework is due every class period. Didn't find him stern as he just wants to clear about what he is asking for.

Wonderful Professor! He seems stern at first but once he opens up hes hilarious and makes class really interesting. Lots of group work in the class so definitely put effort into engaging with your fellow groupmates, itll make the class so much better. Theres also hw due every class session but its really easy homework and doesnt take much time.

Dow is a good man. He assigns a lot of readings, but nothing too extensive. Doesn't require much essays, but definitely try on the few. He makes class interesting by using his personal experiences to relate to topics. Group work is highly utilized. I suggest participating in class discussions because he acknowledges effort!

Professor Dow is a great human being. Although he is very serious and reserved, once in a while he'll say things about his past or what he believes in and you get to see how good of a person he is. His style is very old fashioned and is a tough grader. There is hwk everyday, two exams and three essays. The final was an in class essay.

Dow is an easy enough teacher. Some say that he is sarcastic and difficult, but when it gets down to grading as long as you do all of the assignments the way that he has told you to, you should be fine. As long as you ask for clarity, you should be fine.

Really dry, incredibly arrogant and loves making people feel stupid. Do not take this class if you have self-esteem issues xD. Also, he drones on and on about his life sometimes. He can be absent-minded too, and makes many mistakes. Take EVERYTHING he says with a grain of salt, and never take notes in pen; always assume you will have to correct it.

Dow isn't always clear about assignments and holds class like a high school teacher. He is extremely arrogant. Once, he used an entire class to read us the essay he wrote based on the prompt given for our midterm, but only after boasting about his achievements and saying he didn't expect our essays to be as good as his. Easy teacher, but boring.

My psychology teacher told us that students really rate themselves. Boring students find classes boring. Good students say they are great. So, this is a great class. The readings were from all over the world. I learned about a lot of different cultures. This is one course I will remember and one book I will keep.

I love this class. I feared the worse after reading some of these posts, but after taking him and seeing the poor quality of some of the students I felt I needed to write something. Some of the students who write are just mean spirited losers who fail by their own lack of quality work. They blame the professor instead of improving themselves.

Ive always heard great reviews about Mr Dow but after the 6th week in his class I feel he is extremly rude. He tells students to shut up and stop talking when were trying to answer the questions. He doesnt help you to explain the exact materials he wants you to learn.

I cant comprehend that this guy has any good ratings. He is a hypocrite and he brags about himself and his life half of every class. He trys to teach students to be non biased but every thing he does is biased. He does not let students speak, he thinks that he is right about everything and even makes fun of students by trying to prove them wrong.

He is an amazing person and teacher. One of my favorites at the college. He made learning interesting. All you have to do is read the material and listen to lecture and take interest and you will get an A. I loved this class!
