Really smart guy. He knows his stuff and sometimes forgets we're in 2nd year. Very clear. Tests were all based on lecture material and no textbook. His slides have very little text on them so you need to go to lecture for the explanation. Exams had long and short answer which was odd for a sciency course, but I liked it.

Rating in terms of personality 100%. In the classroom, I found his slides a bit unclear. Outside of class, he is amazing. I went to see him outside of class and that meeting actually inspired me to follow my passion instead of taking the easy route. Thats what a teacher is supposed to do!!! :)

He almost needs to record his lectures for online viewing, because he discusses so many things in lecture it is difficult at best to write them all down. The textbook helps understand material to a point, but only just. The labs are terrible. I'm not taking this course looking to go into physical geography. Why should i learn to calculate snowpack?

Dr. English is a great prof. though he moves quickly through the lectures, upon furthur review the materail isn't too bad. Very helpful and injects occasional humor. Really enjoyed the class. Kudos :)

Very nice man and so helpful-- material is quite tough for a second year class but his tests are very fair and have lots of choice so you can do well if you study. Labs aren't too hard either. Very nice course. :)
