Comment:

Truly a woman who values opinions and those who speak up; regardless of position. Her 4th year seminar courses are truly eye opening and offer a lot of intelligent conversation. It may be difficult to understand her expectations at times but her class was by far one of the most rewarding in my entire Carleton experience.

Comment:

Took War, Media and Conflict seminar and enjoyed it thoroughly. Since it was a seminar she didn't lecture much and just kept a good discussion going after presentations. Great class, really interesting and thought out readings.

Relevant readings, clear powerpoints which are put on webct BUT taken down a few days later so grab em quick. Lots of group work (at the end of every class and for a final 50 min presentation). Midterm, final paper and no final exam. She marks fairly and returns papers in a timely fashion. Pay attention and you will do well. Overall an okay prof.

She is a great prof in smaller settings. She chooses very interesting seminar readings (in higher level courses). Don't let past ratings dissuade you from giving her seminars a chance. Her course turned out to be one of my favourites, a lot of work, but it was worth the effort.

Incomprehensible, biased, very narrowminded and seems to use this against males in her classes. Didn't take away much from her class - of course, I didn't understand half of what she said.

If this woman could actually speak english this course might be useful (I don't think ****o is a latin dance...really). Unless you can undrstand heavy french accents and love to have 1 week to do essays I don't recommend this course.

My third year course with her was held in a big room. Between the loud air conditioner, her thick accent and her sentences trailing off, she was difficult to hear/understand. She was much better in a 4th yr seminar course w/ fewer students.

Heavy French accent makes her hard to understand, and she has a clear bias towards Francophones, even going so far as to present incorrect information to favour the French. I am not exaggerating.
