Excellent course. Questions on assignments were sometimes unclear but she would clarify if questioned. She uses her own textbook, which isn't fantastic, however it was only $12 and covered the material reasonably well. There aren't many practice questions though, and the solutions are often incomplete or missing entirely.

She's a nice person and pretty easy marker. However she can be hard to understand at times and often misunderstand questions. Has a habit of skipping steps when showing examples. Be warned, she does not mark the assignments, use textbook as reference to how to answer questions for full marks.

She's not very clear with her explanations, often progressing in leaps of two or three steps. However, she's one who is always willing to retrace whatever steps she missed if asked. Her class is fairly challenging, but not out of reach if you're open to asking questions - in some cases, a lot of them.

I've had Mirela as an instructor when I was in COMP 1113, and also for the option courses in technical programming option. While she is not always clear with her explanations, she really cares alot about her students. She is always willing to listen to input from students. In her option courses, if you try, you will get a very good mark.
