Great workshop environment! Gets everyone to speak and participate. Also, gave AMAZING feedback on my writing, i'm not sure why others have posted she doesn't- it could be because she didn't think you were serious about writing. If you DO care, she is a great resource and she really jump-started me to a stronger voice in my own poetry!

Comment:
Prof Schoenberger's adapted screenwriting class was a great experience. She is very knowledgeable about the process of crafting screenplays, I really benefited from in-class discussions. But her notes written on my screenplay were not very detailed. Honestly, the biggest problem I had was not with her, but other students not taking class seriously.

This class surprised me. I love creative writing but never considered screenplays. Prof Schoeberger is an experienced successful writer, so approached the topic using learn as you do. I liked this class because she didn't lay out her expectations but allowed you to discover your own way. This is how creative people like to be guided.

very flaky. bigoted against certain genres. misses many classes. doesn't seem to really care about the class. perhaps the worst professor I've had.

took 3 classes with her. always available, comments were always good -- a real writer's writer if you care about the work. she made me a better writer, and I'm a successful pro now partially because of my interaction with her.

One of the most pointless classes I've ever taken. Unhelpful, and you have no idea what grade you get until it shows up on your transcript. Take this course with another professor.

In response to a previous comment, it doesn't matter how good your writing is, her comments are NEVER helpful. I've taken 2 writing classes with her, and they have honestly been a waste of my time. She's an easy A, but don't expect to improve your writing

If you go to the office hours and actually have specific problems/questions, she's helpful. If you just expect her to help you out, she won't. she doesn't care if you don't.

If your papers are already good, she is helpful in making them better. Unfortunately, if you aren't so good, she is pretty useless and vague.
