Nancy Turner is full of knowledge, cares for her students, and gives incredibly interesting lectures. She is slightly disorganized, but only because she has so much information in her head! Exam content was hard to gauge, and there was not a lot of direction for written work. Overall good class though.

She is very passionate about her subject, but that passion did not always come through in her scattered lectures. Very interesting when telling stories and showing us plants, but un-engaging while actually lecturing. She is very friendly and helpful. BUT she has high expectations and marks HARD, so definitely talk to her to get help and clarity.

Nancy is great. Take a course with her if you can. Her subject is her life. She is top class and you will learn a bunch. There is a fair work load, and she marks fairly. Sihn up in advance, seats go quickly!

Nancy is such a sweetheart!!!! she really cares about her students!!! She is very interactive in her class...she'll bring in samples of local plants, woven baskets etc, as well as guest speakers. Her notes are very easy to understand - well written. Her exams are not too difficult if you do the readings. I would definitely recommend her!!!! :)

Nancy lectures by telling wonderful stories. Students often do not realize how much they have learned from her unusual teaching style. A truly internationally aclaimed academic who is warm, friendly and acessable. We are lucky to have her at UVic.
