While she is a sweet and accessible teacher, her teaching style for a graduate level statistics class is mediocre at best. She skips around, hardly uses the book, and doesn't spend enough time explaining the basics and spends most of her time teaching you how to plug in formulas on excel. I taught myself everything in this class due to this.

Nancy is the nicest professor ever! If you ever don't understand something, she is more than willing to help you. While many people don't read the book, I definitely recommend you do, makes life so much easier. There were frequent 10 point quizzes, one gets dropped. I thought she explained concepts very clearly, others not so much. Amazing woman!!

Nancy is the best teacher I had my first semester at loyola. She is incredibly helpful and understanding. So sweet. She was my Messina class instructor and planned a lot of fun things to do with us. She is very outgoing and genuinely cares about her students.

Nancy is one of the most helpful teachers at loyola. She is clear, and there to help. I took her for Micro and I am doing well (given my major is not in the b-school). She gives quizzes each week which could help or hurt you. If you listen you will at least gain a B.

Nancy is GREAT, you definitely should take her. She is clear in her discussions and tries to get everyone in the class involved in learning in class. I had her for both micro and macro and enjoyed both classes very much so. Her quizzes and tests are very fair. She is very willing to help you improve your grade in her class.

I had her for micro and macro economics freshman year. She was a great teacher, and her tests and quizzes were extremely fair. She only tests on what she puts on the board (aka what is in your notes) I would definitely recommend her. If you do the work you'll get at least a B.

Great lady, enjoyable class but tougher then it seems. Not the greatest teacher. Only two homework assignments a week but they take a while. Probably better teachers out there.

As long as you keep up the work, she's not a hard teacher whatsoever. Presents the material in an excellent manner. Workload's fairly light. So nice and approachable. Highly reccomend.

She is the sweetest lady, like a HS teacher.. very involved but doesnt really TEACH you.. you have to teach yourself and her powerpoint presentations and class stuff has nothing to do with the quiz you get EVERY Friday (its hell) It ruined my week and I had to teach myself... If your lookin for an easy A, dont take her

Wow, I've graduated and I've gotta say out of all the upper level EC courses this is the one I find I learned the most in. Take Public Sector if you want to be challenged, nothing you can't handle though, and walk away knowing you got something out of the class. Workload: 1 or 2 papers, quizzes, 2 tests. Read the book, it's important! Take it!
