This is a first year modern art history course, but we had a very heavy-weighted (40%) final research paper on public art in Victoria... more specifically sculptures in Victoria.... Seems a little off topic to me....

I've taken four courses with her, she is very passionate about her work, I always looked forward to go to her classes even though the work is super intensive, she made me want to learn all of it. Hilarious and warm presence to exist around, if I could have her as my prof for every subject I would.

I had signed up for her ART150 photography course by accident thinking we would actually be taking pictures, was planning to drop until I sat through the intro class and realized she was hilarious and all around incredible!! She's awesome and all lecture she did were super interesting! She's willing to answer your questions and help with your essay material. Even though she posts readings before every class, I found that it's not necessary to read. Honestly I've never read reading materials. Unusually, tests are mainly in-class essay which I found kind of tough.

Absolutely my favourite art teacher in the art program. I am an art student, and her class was never boring, she has a very great personality, very passionate about the art history and photography, a good friend as well if you want, and also she is so helpful and always willing to answer your questions anytime. Highly recommend her!!!

Nancy is a really wonderful woman and a lively and energetic teacher. My only issue was with her marking style. On essay's she did not offer ANY comments and the grade seemed to be arbitrarily given. If we are not given feedback about what we have done wrong then we cannot improve ourselves in the future. Other than that the class was fun!

Always fun, energetic, hilarious, and understanding. If you need more time, she'll probably help you out. She's an easy marker if you put some effort into it. You need to know the material, but her exams (from courses like ART180) are pretty easy if you study, and essays make up most of final grades. I >highly< recommend Nancy.

She's an amzing teacher! I took her class about 4 yrs ago and I'm still thinking about it & what a fantastic teacher she was/is. It made me want to change my Major from Anth to Art History. The best teacher I've ever had out of 40+ classes. The course wasn't easy, but it was fun and interesting. She made a potentially boring subject fascinating!

Had her for ART 180/264/265/281. Nancy is a great prof with years of experience and a very unique way of teaching. She is a pleasure to work with, and her energy is contagious. She is fair with her marking, which is probably why most people think she's not the easiest marker. She likes to challenge you. I Would be her student again in a heartbeat!

150 is the best class i've ever taken. I hated missing a class as her lectures were so interesting, no exams, essays made up most of grade, make a really good effort she will give you the grade you deserve..and not to mention she's super nice, friendly, approachable, and really intelligent! definitely recommend

Vivacious, enthusiastic, open to discussion. Clearly loves her subject. Expectations for exams very clear. Tries hard to help you succeed. Show up, prepare for exams, and you'll do well. Managed to redeem the subject for me after a hideous experience with another prof. Has guided my career choice. Taking another class with her in fall. Excited!
