Comment:

It's pretty easy to get a good grade. There are hardly any quizzes, just a few papers. At times she can get very critical on papers. Don't use generic words like "this". There is no final either. Classes were boring. Lots of regurgitation of information. Participation counts, she keeps tallies.

Comment:

Dr. Tyler was very nice and understanding. Anytime someone speaks up in class she agrees with anything they say. The only issue I have with her is that sometimes during our presentations she would keep interjecting her own opinions. Other than that she is a great teacher who gives good feedback and is nice. This class is really easy to get an A in.

Dr. Tyler was very dry and very boring. She also taught her opinion as fact on some occasions. I would not suggest this course to anyone. I love reading and writing, but this classed bored me because of the way she presented it. Almost laughingly easy to receive an A. No final exam, or midterm for that matter.

Honestly not as bad as everyone made her out to be. She droned on and on about unrelated topics and flat out insulted some classic writers, but if you know a thing or two about poetry and can sit through boring lectures, you're headed for an easy A.

This was my first genuinely bad experience with a professor. She is incredibly critical with papers, and not in a good way. She generally doesn't handle problems well and thinks lowly of students who make even a simple mistake.

Hands down the worst class I have ever taken in my life, high school included. I would rather chew nails that take another class from this horror of a human being. I can't even express how much people should NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! I am not only dumber because of her class, but feel that i have been robbed of two months of my life.

I took the class back in 2007 and she was and still is the worst professor to date. Took Intro to Poetry with her and everything about her screamed old lady with a thousand cats. She actually called me "stupid" for after emailing her about my paper. I reported her to the Dean of Faculty.

I am willing to bet that Natalie herself wrote the "positive" comments on 4/26/04, 8/23/07 and 11/21/07 maybe others. What a mean lady. If you enjoy sucking up you'll do fine. Took a great writer (Jane Austen) and reduced it to sexual innuendos and carriages. Don't bring up modern feminist theory or differ from popular critical opinion. Skip it.

Natalie is a strange one. The class was definitely easy if you show up, do your work, and SPEAK UP. She flipped out about people deeming the final exam exemption unfair. So plan on taking the final from now on. Overall, I thought that she was very fair and easy yet not the most exciting person you'll ever meet. I would take her class again.

Natalie is a very nice professor. She will gladly help you in any way possible. She loves to speak with the students one on one or email. Likes intellectual comments in class. Participation is a must. Easy to work with and I would gladly take any of her classes anytime. I saw absolutely no preference to gender.

About to graduate and she is still the WORST professor I ever had at OSU Is the only prof to ever make me cry over her criticism--was not constructive AT ALL it was just flat out mean! and she told me to change my major to get out of eng-Outdated syllabus, unfair grading and no guidelines for papers! This teacher doesn't have a clue what she's talking about. She's so far behind on our syllabus she had to adjust it and take out a book that we have all already bought. i strongly believe this prof. comes to class everyday completely stoned. her lectures consists of disconnected, fragmented thoughts. she typically agrees with almost everyone in her class even if their statements are the opposite of what she just said. i've also seen her take joy in berating students in class.
