Very interesting professor. If you take her classes and put in the effort, you will gain a lot from the course and learn much along the way. If you do not put in the effort, she has no hesitation in assigning poor grades. If you're looking to breeze through a class, avoid her. If you're looking for an intellectually rewarding course, take her.

She's amazing. She's the best Spanish teacher I've ever had and I've been studying this damn language since Kindergarten. She's incredibly patient with students and personally goes out of her way to make sure everybody is on board or caught up. She also compromises with students on things like the syllabus or lesson plans which so nice

Started the semester off super strict to the point where I was already failing 3 weeks in, but by midterms she loosened up and I had an A. LOTS of papers and out of class work. Cancelled class a lot. Classes were solely discussion. Not my favorite teacher.

This class requires a lot of out-of-class time. Student are expected to learn vocabulary and grammar from the textbook then practice it in class. There are daily quizzes so keep up with the reading and homework. Those points add up quickly. All 115 classes have the exact same exams. It doesn't really matter who you take but I really liked Arbalaez.

If you show interest in her class she will always be more apt to help you. Classes are mandatory because she gives quizzes and does not give you makeup quizzes. She requires everyone to take each day in spanish but I found that helpful.

I loved Professor Arbalaez! She was really friendly and helpful. After having taken 310 and 315, 415 was easier than both of them. The tests aren't too hard, and she grades more easily than the other professors I've had for Spanish. I would definitely recommend her. Taking 415 with her was so fun!

Ok class. She's a great person, but very demanding when it comes to work. You won't do well on the tests-- accept it, move on. Give this class the attention it deserves and go to her if you need help.

This has been my fav class at SLU so far. The teacher is very helpful, and she will really like you if you show effort and participate during class. Lots of homework, but she grades easy - except on tests. Make sure you pay close attention on tests bc she will rip them apart! SUPER FUN class! Dont forget to look at your syllabus everyday!

The class was very fun; I looked forward to it each day. There was bussy work, which was unfortunate, but that didn't really matter. There were a few tests that were managable if a little effort was applied, and there was always homework that was also managable. I'd recomend the class.

I had to drop this class and find a new language. The whole department teaches the class *in* Spanish, which is unbelievably hard to follow if you haven't had Spanish before.Seemed like 3/4 of the class already knew Spanish, fall behind quick if you don't.
