Initially I was terrified of this class but Prf. Fiber changed that quickly. She calls on students to help them engage in conversation but will help you if you get stuck. From a student that HATES participating in in-class discussion, I didn't mind it in this class. A lot of reading, but very straight forward. Loved this class-Taking her next sem!

Studied abroad with her in Italy over the summer. Shes very progressive, loves gallows humor, kind of a health nut (whatd you expect from someone named Fiber?). Coursework seemed daunting at first because of how action-packed she makes the itinerary so you feel like you have no time to do it, but its manageable.

Professor Fiber-Ostrow definitely won't hand you an A, but if you follow directions on the papers then it is not impossible to earn one. She expects a lot of her students, but is fair in her grading. Her lectures are engaging and go beyond the readings to further your understanding. There is a ton of reading but it isn't all relevant to your papers

Without a doubt, the most meticulous papers I've ever had to do and on top of that, she'll grade them hard. She is very opinionated to where it can kind of get obnoxious. She became a professor because she wound up not wanting to be a lawyer, but treats the class like we do. There are many court cases and you will have to read them for the papers.

If you're a weak writer I would stay away from this class until you've strengthened your writing skills. Class consists of 3 papers and a moot court presentation. The paper a graded hard and weigh heavily on your final grade. You'll have to work feverishly to secure an A in this class. She's also a self proclaimed liberal and isn't shy about it.

Very charismatic and opinionated. The readings are a must but be strategic about it. If your a slow reader, just make sure you understand the main ideas of the material. Class structure is simple: Three papers and a moot court. She makes class very interesting but don't just take her word for it.

Professor Fiber is hands down the most amazing and inspirational professor I had in my collegiate career. There is no question, she is a tough professor and you have to do the reading but this class was the best experience I had. I learned so much and was really pushed to my potential.

BRILLIANT PROFESSOR! Dr. F.O. is the best Professor I've had at CSUF. She is extremely knowledgeable and her lectures will keep you engaged and thinking the entire time. Her course is insightful, thought-provoking, and eyeopening. She is extremely respected by POSC students. This class isn't easy, but SO WORTH IT. You will learn so much from her!

Professor Fiber is amazing! Comments about her being an airhead are complete nonsense as she is a constitutional scholar. Her class is difficult and you do have to read the book, but come on- we're in college and it'a 300 level course, if you don't want to read you're in the wrong place. While she is liberal, her teachings are quality and you learn

Overall this class is somewhat hard, the readings are basically the judges opinions. The oral argument is hard 5 minutes in front of class. The paper she assigns is hard as well 8 page paper and lots of research for it. Overall you MUST READ no bs in order to pass the class the oral arguments are based on the readings. She is cool and nice as well

Professor Fiber is the best! She is very understanding of student needs and definitely makes herself available to meet in person with students. i took her 375 class this Spring and absolutely fell in love with presenting my own oral arguments before "the court". Do take this class, do the readings (they're beyond interesting BTW!) you'll love it!

Overall, If I had a chance I would not take this class again. The test and papers were in themselves complex with minimal guidelines to follow. What you are left with is essentially figuring out the material for yourself and that's it. If you choose to take this class good luck and I hope that you don't have to endure what I went through

Honestly, Dr. Fiber is one of the best professors I've ever had. Yes she is tough and her class is a lot of work, but if you read and have an express an opinion, you will be fine. She encourages you to think and teaches you a lot. She is one of the best political science professors I have ever had.
