He was great in this class. He is clearly passionate about the subject matter and is very excited to help or answer any questions. I wouldnt necessarily pick him as a professor but he's not bad if you have to take him

This class was really dry. But he is very sweet and EXTREMELY helpful. He is terrible at responding to email but if you approach him before or after class or during his office hours he is really helpful. Its not an easy class but if you go to class its not a hard one.

Prof. Clapper is a very nice person but most of his "lectures" are made up of him reading directly off of the powerpoint slides and in the textbook. I would definately not choose him for any class if you can help it. I think it's time for him to retire and enjoy life a little.

i took clapper for LBST 301. he was extremely boring. 100% of his time was spent reading back to assigned readings from the textbooks. only a midterm and final (essays) are due. easy grader. if you do the assigned work, you will pass, but he will bore you to tears.

Exams based on readings and lectures. Can be boring, take notes to do well on Essay exams (5 qusetions one/two parag, and 10 short answers 3-4 sentences for each exam.) There are 2 exams like this, one group presentation(very easy) and one paper. He grades fairly hard. I got a B.

I had this professor for LBST 302A and B. He is a good teacher and as long as you take notes you will do well. Write down every thing that he says and you will get a A. Email your sample essays and he will go over what you are missing. Just make sure that you attend class. It is important to do the reading for the multiple choice part.

I found him to be a very easy grader, out of the Clapper, Starr, & Garber dream-team. Although the class was boring, I would still recommend him. * He does love the PowerPoint, and he likes to read novels off it.* All I know is as long as you study the pre-written questions, you can pass.

I had him for both 302A and B, take good notes and you'll do fine. This class is hard no matter what teacher you have. Best advice: take good notes, and you'll never need to do the reading, I got a B.

Clapper is the easiest of 3 teachers. If u took an art history class u should have no prob. with the subject. I didn't really read the book and still passed. His outlines r accurate n all u have 2 do is take some additional notes 4 ur self. u only have 3 exams,no midterm no final, but do study for the exams a lot since you have to write 3 essays.

Make sure you take great notes and do all the reading. If you don't you won't be able to pass his test. The questions deal with the innovative and the traditional so be on the look out for those themes. If you go to class, do the reading, and take great notes you should be ok. I mini recorder may help.

He is a great professor. He is a great lecturer. Very willing to help. You need to pay attention though and take good notes. This class is not easy. But if you have good study habits and attend class everyday youll get an A. He knows what hes talking about.

hard grader but the most interesting lectures of the three. he was very nice and gives outlines of his lectures so if you just follow along and take good notes you pretty much have everything you need for the tests.

His classes went by the quickest of the 3 professors for me but thats about the only good thing about him...he's the type where unless you say EVERYTHING on your essay that he would include then you can't get an A on it...best score I got from him was 85%. Unlike others, he doesnt leave comments to let you know whats wrong or how to improve

You read A LOT! but the books and discussions are interesting. YOu have to write a reflection on each paper, but it's pretty easy. He doesn't give much feedback, just sits there. You have to read like six novels and then watch the movie that goes with it and analyze them and talk about how they are great works of art. interesting & time consuming

I found Clapper to be one of the easiest teachers in the trio of professors that teach this class. He is very clear and precise, compared to the others that repeat themselves 5 different ways to get their point across, and you still don't get it. Clapper is very understandable. All you have to do is take good notes.

PRETTY MUCH IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER OPTIONS FOR LIBERAL STUDIES TAKE ANOTHER CLASS. HE IS SO BORING AND I ACTUALLY LIKE ARTS AND HUMANITIES AND HAVE HAD REALLY GREAT TEACHERS FOR THIS SUBJECT, BUT CLAPPER SUCKS ANYTHING EXCITING FROM THE SUBJECT. TWICE A WEEK I KNOW THAT I WILL HAVE 1 HOUR AND 15 MIN TO SLEEP.

At first, Prof. Clapper looks like a cute and adorable old man who is full of passion for the arts. But as a teacher, he is an extremely hard grader. The other two teachers would grade a lot easier and gave helpful feedback, whereas Clapper wrote "I don't know what you are talking about."
