Hamill is by far the best professor I have ever had not only in the physics department but in the university itself. His class is no breeze but if you want to learn material and have fun in class as well Hamill is the best! He has homework due every class but it is usually 1-2 problems with quizzes on the last day of class that week.

Ten years after taking his classes, I absolutely consider him the best professor I ever had. He is clear, friendly, funny, sympahtetic to learning needs. Pat Hamill is what all professors should aspire to be for their students! He helped me appreciate learning quantum and E&M. He will always be my model in teaching.

Nicest guy ever. Always smiling and cracking jokes. But don't let that fool you! He's a great teacher that teaches straight from the book, and he knows his stuff. Easy to follow lectures, and somewhat difficult homeworks and tests. A real pro when it comes to teaching.

Of course, as always, simply the best professor you can get. Lectures are very organized, structured and clear. He follows the book closely. Quizzes are once a week, I'd suggest looking over derivations given in lecture beforehand, making sure you can remember them. Tests are a bit harder, but if you're a physics major, you better get used to it!
