This was a great class, really interesting!! 3 papers that were 3-5 pages each. Journal Entries on moodle for every book, did not have to be very long, a group presentation, and 2 journal entries for the final. His presentations were good, I really enjoyed the content of this class, I took it as a Gen Ed. TA very helpful w papers. Easy A.

Eh. Just eh. Wouldn't take him again so easily. 3 papers and 2 journals (which were basically papers) so 5 papers total. All you had to was show up and watch the movie then write comments on Moodle. Pretty straightforward. Only thing was he was very nit-picky with the papers and liked papers his way and his style and diction! SO ANNOYING. So eh.

He's really nice and a bit sarcastic. His accent is a little hard to understand but the concepts are easy enough. Grading is easy and he provides PDFs of the books...which are easy to Sparknote :)

Nice teacher, decent class (African Film). A moderate amount of work, but nothing difficult. He was a decent lecturer, but was too easily put off by the disregard of the large GenEd body of students. Discussion sections were especially awkward. I'd be reluctant to take another class with him, but it did go well and fulfilled a lot of requirements.

Awesome professor, and the reading is really fun to do. I was afraid I wasn't going to like the book list, but they are awesome books, and the subject matter is interesting, if not a little embarassing at times. Professor Mensah is a great guy, I highly recommend his class!

This class was soooo easy. Minimal work and an easy A. It doesnt take much to impress him and the subject is relatively interesting. His lecturing can be a bit boring but I can't complain with little work assigned.

I really enjoyed this taking this class,i gain more knowledge about African history through the nice films we watched in class.I do recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about African Film and history.

Discussions are made lively by the students.There isn't a lot of work to do in this class.You just have to write 4 papers the whole semesters,3 pages minimum and he is not that particular about deadlines.He is quite helpful and responds to questions promptly.

awesome class very interesting. very nice professor. however the discussions can be slow because no one wants to speak on the topics. if your going to take it be mature enough for it, you are in college! i would definitely take another class taught by him. lots of movies and good books.

Both classes are really interested, as long as you want to learn about the French colonies in Africa. The discussions take a while for them to warm up but once they're going they're awesome. He is forgetful, but very understanding and willing to accept papers at any time during the semester. There is a lot of reading in french, so beware.
