He's clearly passionate about what he teaches. His class is kind of fun to attend, plays a lot of great music, we watch a lot of great youtube clips etc... This class is extremely difficult. He makes the exams/midterms as difficult as he can. Is more than fair when marking album reviews. BEWARE THE TESTS

Great course, well-organized and thorough. Exams are tough but reasonable. Paul is clearly passionate about the material. I've never seen him talk down to anyone, and he encourages us to form our own opinions on the music. Promotes discussion in class. Always friendly and approachable in his office. Really looking forward to his comp/arr classes.

Yes. PT is a hard ass. Big time. However, he knows his****. Anyone who hates him doesn't recognize his talent. Who cares if he's a jerk, his mind is a treasure chest full of information. Every professor favors their own, its just the way it is. I may not like PT. But i do respect him a great deal.

Quite possible the worst teacher ever. Very two faced and will do anything to ruin your life. If he decides you're talented then he likes you only because he hopes you will get famous and say you know him. I have never learned or valued anything he has "taught" in a class. He is a waste of time.
