Comment:
Nice and sweet professor, but very boring class. Discussions on the books are very one sided and mostly just her describing the events/content instead of discussing anything deeper in meaning. On the plus side, she talks about almost everything in class that is on the quizzes and tests. Doesn't give enough time for the amount of reading she gives.

A good, sweet lady and a good teacher. I had her for Women in Literature and, though I felt the books she chose lacked in diversity, she was very open to opinions and her lectures showed that. Her grading is very very fair and I'll fully accept my B because she makes her grades very fair. No peer review, I'm not sure what that is.

Professor Ochoa was very kind & enjoyable. Her class was not difficult if you turn in a full rough draft. She edits them and also makes the class do peer reviews so the only reason you'll receive a bad grade on a paper is if you slack on the rough draft. Her papers are not difficult but do require some work. I recommend her above other professors.

She is the sweetest teacher! Sometimes she rambles about her life because it connects to the reading, often ends in adorableness. She is very clear in what she is looking for on quizzes and tests and really tries to get the class to interact, always asking if we understand. She is honest about content being difficult and will help because of it.

Prof Ochoa is a super sweet lady. Her lectures are not the most exciting, but she tries. There are reading responses at least once a week(they're not too bad), a few quizzes(if you go to class they're pretty easy), 3 tests w/I.D.s and paper. Sounds like a lot of work, but it's spaced out enough and the content is not difficult for an Eng. major.

4 essays, including an in-class essay. Dr. Ochoa inputs feedbacks and corrections for your rough draft, so it's highly recommended to complete your draft to knowfix your mistakes, etc. She grades extremely hard on grammar.. and I am not kidding around at all so try to have less grammar errors on your paper or a HUGE amount of pts will be deducted.

Definitely a hard class and you have to really work for your grade! It was probably one of the hardest classes I took. Although the peer review did help it was still a lot of work! Not an easy class! She requires a book that has essay examples so that helped a little bit.

Dr. Ochoa is really nice! She gives great feedback and examples of what she wants. There were four papers and one in-class response. Doing developed rough drafts will definitely help. She's great on teaching grammar.

Decent professor and the material isn't too hard if you excel at writing. She assigned a few papers that have interesting topics however, she grades very hard on grammar. I highly recommend doing the rough drafts because they are worth points and can be very helpful. One in-class essay. Gives out a couple tough grammar quizzes throughout course.

peggy is one of those teachers that annoys you but is very easy. no tests, some easy grammer quizes, and 4 essays. each essay is pretty easy and range from 3 to 3 and 12 pages. she grades fair and is a grammer nazi. overall pretty easy class that drags on but if you end up with an A youll get over it.

GO TO CLASS :) she will take away points. She's an older lady, so her lectures are old fashioned and boring. 4 papers, which are not hard at all. Topics were interesting. She is a tough grader but she will let you know EXACTLY what she wants. A couple quizzes which aren't too hard if you know your grammar.

Very difficult to stay attentive in class, goes on a tangent about her children a lot! It's odd that she can always relate it back to her children. Very boring class, but class is mandatory. The exams are stupid, it asks about which character/author said/wrote what, and one or two essay questions! I advise you to take another professor!

It is a real simple class. Consist of 4 papers, 1 in class essay and some grammar quizzes. No Fianl. BUT SHE IS VERY HIGH ON GRAMMAR. She looks for everything in your paper and SHE WILL TAKE POINTS AWAY. Just go to her office hours and she will love to help you.

I love Shakespeare and learned a lot in high school from my AP English teachers. I was hoping for added insight and analysis in this class but it's basically a Shakespeare "survey" class; you cover a ton of plays in a very short time-frame. You do not delve past the surface and focus mostly on plot summary. Not compelling at all.

She's a very nice lady but she runs the class like if you were still in high school. The class was pretty easy but I didn't feel challenged at all. There is a lot of memorization and very little analysis for the exams. I would probably not take her again.

There are five essays throughout the semester and one in-class essay. I thought I was bad at writing papers but I ended up with an A. The class consists of turning in a first draft, peer-review, comments from Dr. Ochoa which are very helpful, and the submission of the final draft. I would highly recommend taking her.
