He is a man with so much experience in the field so do not expect a shortage of stories. He really knows his stuff so he will go in specific (but interesting) details about marine processes. Tests were pretty tough but it was quite an experience being in his class.

Dr. Glynn is extremely knowledgeable and responsive and makes class truly fun with wonderful anecdotes from his career as a marine scientist. His quizzes/exams are pretty tough, and you need to really understand EVERYTHING from his lectures/slides to do well, but he's a great choice for those willing to work hard to learn from the best.

Dr. Glynn's class was the highlight of my day every day I had it. The quizzes and tests are difficult, but if you do some hard core studying you'll be fine (he also curves a bit). The man has truly lived an amazing life as a marine scientist and has numerous stories (some hilarious) that were, quite honestly, inspiring.

Dr. Glynn is awesome. He has years of experience in his field, that yield intelligent lectures and amazing stories. He will make you work however. BUT, if you really study (like actually settle down in the library and legit study) for his quizzes, midterm, and final, you should do well. Go to class, and pay attention. The man, the myth, the legend! If you are lucky enough to take a class with Dr. Glynn, count yourself among the fortunate. This class is hard, but he pushes you for your own good. Go to class, sit up front, and ask for help when you need it! He's an incredible man so get to know him! (Note: if you're looking for an easy elective, look elsewhere!)

I loved this class! I looked forward to hearing Dr. Glynn's lectures and stories. Quizzes and tests are really hard, so study A LOT. Love the material, love the class--definitely take it, but be prepared for a lot of studying. It's so worth it.

I have taken three classes with the man and he is a good teacher with high expectations. Teaches both big picture and details. A great person who is very helpful and accommodating. If you like the subject you will love the class; otherwise it is too much work. Highly recommended.

A really interesting lecturer! The tests and quizzes are really hard, but this is because he just really wants people to learn and find an interest in the subject. His curve seems really fair and he's really funny in lecture. Just be sure to take really detailed notes in order to succeed!

This is an incredible class and Dr. Glynn is inspirational. It's a lot of work (definitely not for those looking for easy science credit) but MSC majors and BIL majors should love it. Extremely interesting, great stories! Sit up front and get to know him! Work hard and you'll do fine.

The class is amazing! But tough. I don't recommend it if you aren't a marine science major (premeds looking for an easy bio elective, stay away as this course will kick your ass). He's very specific on tests and don't believe it when he says something won't be on the test-it's all fair game. He's very helpful if you approach him and ask questions.

Tests are extremely specific and require a lot of study time. Literally need to memorize every bullet point off 100 slides per test/quiz. Xtremely boring. Nice guy, hard to hate him, but then you get destroyed on tests.. so you do... Studying right now for the final and want to die, literally. Jumping off roof of pearson after this.

awesome guy, and famous for his coral research, but a terrible teacher, test are horrible... he stresses certain topics in class, and then literally the only thing on his tests is the stuff he did not stress .... do not take this class unless you have to ... if you do have to , you might end up taking it twice...

I do not recommend him, especially if you are not a marine science major, I took him to fulfill some BIL credits, and it was a big mistake. The material is interesting, but his questions are very specific and some questions are fill in. This is an into class but it did not feel like one :(

He is a horrible teacher. He says you don't need to memorize charts and numbers he puts up on the board and then he tests you on them. Sweet guy but that shouldnt be why he gets a good rating as a teacher. His stories are honestly never funny to me.

In my experience as an undergraduate and graduate student, he is one of the best professors I have known. Very student-oriented and stimulating. He has high standards, necessary for being a quality scientist.
