He is a terrible professor, avoid at all costs. He'll tell you your speech is good one week, only to change his mind and make you rewrite it with a new topic (and thus new research) the week before you have to present it. He is unclear in his expectations and unhelpful when asked to clarify anything. The book is useless and only used for exams.

Peter Jeff is the WORST teacher at GVSU. He should be fired immediately. I have been an honor roll student my whole life, and this teacher is a waste of your time and efforts. He is extremely unclear and his classwork, tests, and speeches or NOT beneficial. Peter grades very unfairly as well. But remember...Public speaking increases your FACE VALUE

Peter Jeff is not a good professor. He is astoundingly unclear about what he wants with his assignments. You won't think so at first, until the comments he gave you last week suddenly don't apply at all. I am hardworking, motivated, and attentive, and I still never know what he wants. Avoid this class at all costs; Jeff has no idea how to teach.

Very very very unorganized. Everything is about metaphors, really annoying. He seemed like an OK guy but he can be really into himself at times. You have no idea what he wants from you and grading seems random. I dreaded going to this class.

I thought he was a decent professor. The class was definitly different from the average speech class (no props or power point). I think i am a better speaker and writer after taking this class. He is always willing to help with your thesis

He is very energetic and loves his job. He is a very good speaker. Unfortunately he is VERY strict with grading and does not make it very clear for first time speakers. A motivational speech is what he is always looking for. It is hard to get an A. Work hard and show him you work hard and you'll do okay. Don't miss any classes, he checks!

NEVER TAKE!!! Made me reconsider my major. Unclear of what he expects of you, changes his mind on the reviews of your performance, talks too long about things that could be covered in half the time. Made me cry by telling me I would fail after having me write a speech over - 5 times. Only ok'd it 3 hours before class I was supposed to present.

NOTE: HE NEVER USED THE BOOK HE REQUIRED FOR THE CLASS!!! prof. jeff was a very nice person, and he reguarly e-mailed tips that may help you along with your speeches. the class was 3 hours, tough to endure for a speech class. however, he has a good sense of humor and is very understanding.

If your career goal is to be a motivational speaker, this is the class for you. If you care about learning something about communicating with normal human beings, take another professor. His over-the-top style made participation intimidating. Time Nazi- one second under or ten seconds over target time and he’ll lower your grade!

Very unclear about assignments. I didn't learn anything in this class and I felt like all of the speeches we did were for motivational speakers. Try to find another prof, unless you are a theater major and are good at one act plays by yourself, then you'll get an A.

Enthusiastic prof, but isn't very clear about what he expects until AFTER you get your speech grades back. He lets lots of "homework" slide, but you'll never really be sure what is due anyways. Do your speeches on time and talk to him before each one and you'll be fine. Pretty easy class...

All these other ratings are lies, pure lies!!! The only people who can't understand him are moronic freshman who don't listen when he's talking and the ones who make sarcastic comments during class. Professor Jeff is willing, creative, and helpful. If you do the work, you pass with flying colors.

He talks about the same thing for a half in hour and could have done it in five mintues. Changes requirements for speeches the day they are due and is very unclear on what he wants. He also tends to change his mind on the reviews.
