Thinks of himself as a little quaint Scottish man when underneath lurks the heart of a bitter Marxist. Condescending and painfully quite (read: boring). Read his work online (read: his blog?) before you write anything for him and mimick his writing style. Results guaranteed.

This course isn't that bad. It can be boring and monotonous, although the course material is kind of interesting. The midterm wasn't difficult and the paper was pretty straightforward. I think it's impt. to go to class/read readings in order to do well...he notices who comes to class & who doesn't.

Yawn. It dont help that his class is at 9 in the morining. I dont think he is a bad prof, i just think a little bit of organization on his part would help the students. Notes he gave dont include names of authors, the list of readings is hard to make sense of, it sohuld have been divided into sections. Plus he gets side tracked easy, goes into rant

This class is DRY! sometimes very hard to sit through, but if you show up, he'll notice! He tries to make the material as appealing as he can, but sometimes it just doesn't work. He really wants people to understand and be interested. Show up to this class though, even if you don't pay as much attention as you should, because you'll be rewarded! :)

Not the most interesting prof i've had, but he's always open for others input. I did Social Movements to which about 12% of the class ever showed for class. If you did badly it is your own fault. He's there to teach, not entertain!
