This guy's absolutely fantastic at what he does. He gets that not everybody who takes this course is a computer science major, so he makes it easy to understand things. It's a shame that he's retiring this semester - literally one of the best teachers that I've had.

Peter is the best prof to take for this class! He understands that not everyone is a CSIS Major.Anyways, this class is really boring but he does his best to get you interested.Show some enthusiasm and you will be fine. The MT and Final isn't bad but the worse part is his Assignments. It is tough to get anything higher then B+.. I only got A- once.

Of course assignments are long but compared to other teachers, they are shorter and the difficulty is less! Also, we skipped 2 chapters and the course is much more lighter than with other teachers. Mid-term and final are very easy if you understands the basics. I RECOMMEND HIGHLY!

Good teacher. Midterm, quizzes and final are fairly easy if you read the textbooka and pay attention to his notes. The hardest part is the assignments which are marked based on how well your assignment comparers to the other people in class do.

This class has VERY long homework assignments. Expect to spend a lot of time on them. If you have programmed before it might not be as bad. Peter is a nice guy. He does his best to explain concepts, and is quite clear about what will be tested. This class is not easy, but you can expect Peter to mark fairly and be available to help.

Saw him teach binary search by writing the algorithm from the top of his head (not from memory of course). I've never seen any prof who would have the nerve or skill to do it.

This guy is too smart to be at douglas. The course material is boring as hell but he does his best to keep people awake by doing little group activities every week. On assignments he says he doesn't give away A's, expect a B if its all done correctly but you have to go above expecations to get an A. Luckily final & midterm is easy! Easy B take Him!

a very nice teacher, lectures.. well can be clear.. but i prefer his notes just cuz everythings there. its hard to get A on the assignments, highest i got was A- n i got help from my frend too.. but for sure at least a B if you try, midterms are easy just study from review questions and definitions. overall its boring but not intimidating at all.

The course itself is crappy, i have to say. But Peter is a nice guy and an easy marker in the exams. He marks stricter in the projects, but the midterm and final are super easy. Honestly, i hate this course which i think is useless, but i still recommand Peter cuz he is really not a bad prof..

He is the best teacher for VisualBasic.Net for non-programmers and intro programmers period. All of his material is clear to understand, he helps you when you need it and the quizzes & exams are fair(straight from notes and book).Whatever you do, do not take John Jirard as your instructor. Van Den Bosch will get you your money's worth.
