So far the only space I found engaging, equal dialogue between the students and the prof was in Petra's classes.Among all anthro profs I met so far Petra has the quality to make you feel like your thoughts are worthy, and challenges you to think outside of the box.In her classes students do not learn only from books but also from one another.

Petra is the one of the most amazing profs at Mac.Of all anthro classes taken so far none have been as engaging as those taught by her.Petra has a great talent to create discussions, encourage students to think for themselves and to express their thoughts.Shows real concern for how you see the world and asks "self-reflecting" questions in exams.

I think Dr. Rethmann is amazing! She has a different yet wonderful way of teaching and it is not like other profs, maybe thats why students dont like her teaching methods. I guess you have to appreciate brilliance to understand her!!! I also love her lululemon outfits! Its hard to find a prof with brains, good looks and style! She has it all!!

wonderful - she became one of my two most inspirational professors. wealth of information, unique perspectives, broad perspective (integrates many fields of thought and issues), interesting. at times intimidating - but to this regard: it is a matter of one's own self-confidence - don't be afraid, she is truly wonderful - talk honestly with her.

Extremely smart, I think a better teacher for 4th year seminar classes than for large 1st or 2nd year classes. I had her for two 4th year seminar classes and they were hard, but very interesting. She gave me A+'s for both my major papers and I usually got A-'s so she isn't that hard...amazing style.
