wow, actually this professor is the reason im putting my math major on hold. A's with all the other math teachers, yet i had to drop with him... i dont think it was me. His quizzes are not on stuff from his lectures... I still dread every having to go to that class...

AVOID this man!! no doubt he knows math, but he hasnt a clue about teaching it.. He constantly contradicts himself and in general doesnt make any sense. I was good at math and im not doing well in his class.. AVOID HIM!! unless of course you want to hear all about his book he wrote and want to laugh at the dumb things he says..

Phillip E. Luft is possibly the worst professor that i have ever had. He clearly knows the material at hand but ask him what day it is and he would be clueless. He doesn't teach AT ALL. Do NOT take any of his classes unless you already know the material and love powerpoint.

This man has no business affecting the lives of others in any way. He is disproportionally docile for his age and makes no attempt at helping students learn. He is to professors what W is to presidents, except not funny and even more oblivious to his surroundings. You will either fail or drop. AVOID LUFT.

I don't know that I would recommend this class, but I don't think he is as bad as some of these ratings make you think. He is confusing and you do basically have to teach yourself. If you want to be successfullly go online at his website and print off all the study things. For daily quizes prepare by looking over answers to the homework from lesson

Salisbury's version of legal torture!! This guy does not know what the crap he is teaching. Mumbles, is unclear, and when you try to go and get help he just makes you more confused, says he can't answer it, or goes off on other random unrelated stuff to avoid the subject. Don't take him. I am a fairly studious person and I worked my butt off trying to do well in the class but I could not get higher than a 60%. I'm not good at math so I studied constantly with no result. I tried talking to him and didn't help, I tried getting tutoring and it didn't help. If you need to take Calc 2 wait for Dr. Spickler to teach it.

This has to be the worst math class I have ever taken. I dropped it. You learn nothing. He reads to you out of his own book every class and has a powerpoint of everything in the book. There's a quiz every class and usually homework with MINITAB, the most confusing program ever. DO NOT TAKE LUFT!

WORST TEACHER EVER! He does not know he is talking about and you WILL be lost if you dont have previous knowledge. Take 5 minute quiz at beginning of class and then leave. his "lecture" is literally word for word out of his notes that you buy. he sounds just like Mr. Howell from Giligans Island so that kept me entertained.

At 8:00 am the last thing anyone wants to do is stare at a slide that you can read on your own anytime you feel like it. He also teaches differently than all other professors so when you go into the department final, you aren't as prepared
