She is the sweetest most compassionate lady and is always there for extra help. But I found her way of explaining things to be confusing. We moved through material very fast without me being able to really grasp concepts before building on them. Talks in spanish 90% of the time even explaining what was going to be on exams, a lot for only spanish 2

Pilar was a really sweet Professor! I will admit, she can be unclear at times in regards to her syllabus and day to day itinerary but all and all very caring ! She wants everyone do do well and as long as you show up and make an effort and impression, she'll grade you favorably. Textbook is definitely needed everyday. Attendance is also a boost.

Sweetest professor ever, but a little advice, she tends to use more complex sentence structures from time to time, if you did Spanish in HS or previously you will be fine, easy A. As a true beginner it may seem fast but she will definitely help you. She does take attendance and will do random calling out on people. Love her!

I must be an exception, I wasn't a fan of her. We never followed the syllabus so it was confusing, class was also EXTREMELY boring. I could barely pay attention at times. I have never been more lost in any other class. This was the first major class I hated with a passion. She's a sweet lady, but not a good teacher. Would never take her again.

Pilar is awesome! She is so funny and extremely helpful! She thinks of fun and creative activities for each lesson taught, that helps absorb the info! I would recommend taking any of her classes, but I had her for 102.

Pilar is a sweet lady. However, she can be a bit unclear at times. You learn a lot from her classes, you just have to pay attention in class and if you have questions, ASK! you learn several things about the course and life itself. She is very passionate about what she teaches, she makes it fun. Read the material and be prepared.

This is a class for people who are fluent in Spanish and want to enhance there grammar and reading skills. She is a wonderful person. Very funny and always upbeat. However, at times she says one thing and then forgets (like homework) She really enjoys what she teaches and therefore she inspired me to major in Spanish. I do recommend her!

THe person who thought she was the worst teacher OBVIOUSLY never went to class. because Pilar is a very wonderful teacher...she knows her stuff and knows how to explain/teach it too... she comes up with the most interesting examples that stay in ur brain so you'll remember it forever...I would highly recommend her
