She's isn't terrible, but she isn't great either. I did well in her class, but already speaking a European language helped me. Students with no background in romance/slavic/latin languages will struggle, so be warned. In fact, if you have no background in European languages, just stay away from this Prof altogether. She tends to pick on students.

A fun, energetic and helpful professor that genuinely wants all her students to do well in the course. I was a graduating student and she made sure that the strike didnt affect my performance or final grade. If you show interest in the course, you will finish with a great mark and have a solid understanding of the material.

She's a sweetheart, really caring and understanding in regards to her students. She may come across as tough to those who don't want to do any work, but if you keep up she's a great prof. Fair marker.

Professor Ford is a very good professor. I personally enjoyed her class and her teaching style very much.I learned a lot in her class and found her to be very helpful to students who showed interest and actually attended class. You can't expect to skip class and not study and get a good grade. Overall I would recommend taking her class.

She's not the easiest prof, but she's definitely not as horrible as some of the other ratings say! She challenges you and expects you to work hard in a good way, and if you do put in some effort, it's really not difficult. She's also funny and is accommodating of her students. She's very experienced with teaching.

An amazing prof! The best prof. I've had at York. If you really want to learn Spanish, and show that you have a genuine interest in the language, she will try her best to help you understand the material throughout the course. I had no prior background knowledge of Spanish and got a very good grade in her class.

This is by far the worst teacher ever. She belittles her students, caters to students with prior knowledge of Spanish/romance language, and is unclear in her explanations. She reads from the text book, and if you don t understand a concept she simply will ask "Why not?" DROP THIS CLASS

Moves at a fast pace, is demanding and a hard marker but it's for your own good. No free ride in this class. If you work hard and dedicate yourself to the work, you earn her respect and will do well in her class and actually retain the material. I enjoyed her class, she's nowhere near as bad as people here make her out to be.

If your goal is to learn spanish - she is a very good teacher. Demanding, but forces you to learn. Especially important when you just start to learn a language - gives you a base. A lot of work, though. After her 1st year spanish class, I didn't do anything in my spanish 2nd level next year, and got an A. The knowledge I acquired was enough.

When I first started this class, I found it hard. The professor moves at a fast pace, marks hard, and is demanding in your work. However, after talking to her, I have found that she is genuinely interested in helping students to succeed and answered every single one of my questions. You may not get a good mark, but you'll learn a ton in this class.

As a graduate of biology, I'm taking a first year class for fun. She is very intense, picks on people in class, is condescending, and even insults the intelligence of people in her class. I have a B.Sc and have never experienced such an awful professor in my whole undergraduate experience. York should be ashamed of itself.

Change out of the section if you have to to get a different professor! Professor is unclear/disorganized (there was even confusion to when the exam date was - the class b4!), she does pick on people, and allows the top students to answer every question and follows their pace. EXTREMELY HARD MARKER and doesn't write ANYTHING on the board.

Yes, this class is tough, but she listens to the students' concerns, and even allowed students to redo their essays to get a better mark. All in all, she actually seems to care whether you do well in her class.

I am not of spanish heritage, which means that Spanish is not my native language - so don't pretend like I know what everything means. Also, having a spanish speaker answer the questions, then asking what the non-native speakers think, is not encouraging!
