The short and skinny of Dr. Gangi's class is this: Show up, do your work, and pay attention! His teaching style is exemplary for those who are willing to learn and put forth the effort needed, and his Jeopardy-style pre-exam reviews allow you to compete for extra credit. That, and it makes studying fun. Oh, and Dr. Gangi is witty and funny!

Dr. Gangi is the worst teacher I have ever had. He makes you learn and after taking his class you'll understand chemistry but he is HARD! I had to take Chem twice because of him. He's also very very very nickpicky about EVERYTHING! Gets annoyed when you ask questions and is horrible at re-explaining things. Take anyone but him if you need chem.

Dr.Gangi is the BEST chemistry professor I ever had. He is clear & neat. Chemistry is HARD. He understands everyone comes from different backgrounds & will explain the material in the most simplest form possible. The rest is up to you 2 EARN your grade.You will understand & remember Chemistry if you take him!!!

Dr.Gangi knows chemistry. I'm not a fan of his teaching. He appears to get annoyed easiy and do not like to repeat information or questions asked. let alone, he appears to get annoyed when you have a question. He DO NOT do partial credit, no extra credit. He is challenging.

This teacher is extremely good at what he does (chemistry), and teaches very intelligently. But he's obscenely persnickety about EVERYTHING. If you make as much as one tiny mistake in any graded part of the class, you are royally screwed. And when he's not clear and you ask questions, he's oftentimes extremely bad at re-explaining things.

Dr. Gangi is a teacher who should specifically teach for Chem students only. He is a really tough teacher and I was taking CHM 111 & A & P2 and had to withdrawl from Chem. He is tough, but fair but I couldnt handle it. I advise you look into another professor if you want a better grade with less work.

Took Chemistry 101. He has his own website with notes, so don't but the textbook. Notes are about 20 pages a topic, and tests are on 3 topics. You get a 3 question quiz on the homework and what you learned each class. He puts hw on his website with hints and answers and goes through step by step next class. He makes sure you understand!

He is the most effective teacher I've ever met. Rules are strict, but if you cooperate, he's flexible. If you want to know chem, he's the man. Uses time and classroom resources very wisely. Tests are challenging, but fair and honest. Teaches you exactly what you need to know and how to solve problems with no errors. A fine human being.

Excellent professor. Tougher than other instructors, but in my opinion it's refreshing to not get handed an "A" from some adjunct who waters down the material only to get a good evaluation. Solid teaching with plenty of resources provided to supplement the material.

Gangi is an overall great professor. He makes sure you do the homework by giving you short quizzes at the beginning of class, and his classes cover the material discussed in class. Great teacher, really knows his stuff. But don't expect to slack off and do well in this class. He is very demanding of students, and expects you to do QUALITY work. Attendance is mandatory and there is a quiz every day. But trust me, when you move on to your 4-year college, you'll be thanking Prof. Gangi for making sure you worked hard!

Im a bio major so when i took his chem class I wanted to understand, but be able to get a good grade. that was not the case. A quiz every day and you only get a minute to do it, and the tests are pretty hard. Loved him! Was one of the best teacher's I've ever had. I had Chem in high school, so I was familiar with a lot of the material but his teaching method is really good. You don't need to read or study the textbook at all. He has his own online notes and if you study them and if you know how to do all of the hw problems then you should get an A!!

Very tough class, very tough (but helpful) professor. But the class is on par with anything you will take at a big university. You'll be able to go on to biochem or other advanced courses with a solid background in organic chem. Dr. Gangi wants to make sure his students understand organic chem! Just be prepared to work your butt off.
