He was really passionate about certain portions of the course, which would encourage him to go off topic. I've fallen asleep in many of the classes, if I decided to show up, of course. The content is basically review and when he teaches, he teaches well. He really cares about getting the point cross - if you have questions, never hesitate to ask.

His grad students call him the boss, I call him Prof Oakleboss. My favourite professor and I have had some quality professors. Gave me some excellent advice when I did the class in Fall, if you're putting in the work he is there for you. Top quality and I daresay I do not have enough superlatives to refer to him.

Oakley was my favourite prof last semester! He's got the wry British humour thing going on, and he makes his own slideshow that is infinitely better than the course notes the other sections have to use (and no clickers!). He also gives past test questions at the end of each section to study with. I'm really missing him this term with Marta.

He is very chill, cool, funny!!!! One of the best XD I always felt that lectures passed by extremely fast. He is also very nice to students... since I once accidentally ran into his office outside of the office hours and he was very nice.

Pretty good overall. Clear, helpful, always gets back to you, friendly, etc. Uses a mic that malfunctions sometimes so can be hard to understand. Posts all the PowerPoints online so taking notes is a non issue. Wouldn't recommend skipping, slides don't make much sense if you aren't there to hear him explain what Popeye has to do with chemistry.

He's a really nice and funny guy but I wish he used the course notes, it would have made the course a lot easier. I attended all the lectures but they weren't really helpful. I don't really learn from seeing already solved problems on powerpoint slides- I have to see how to do the steps. I mainly learned from watching Bissonnette's videos online.

Typical Prof, glasses, formally dressed even has a mustache. He sometimes get`s lost in his slides, but material isn`t that difficult. Formal class, easy class, good university class.

My favourite chem prof ever! (had Bissonnette for CHEM 123, and although his notes are better, I'd choose Oakley over Bissonnette every time). Really loves chemistry, is very nice and tries very hard to help his students. Love the chem-related side stories. Love the accent. Love the prof! Oakley FTW!

Make sure you attend his classes! His notes are not as good as Bissonette's, but if you go to class and listen to what he says, you should be fine! Study using the assignments for the final exam, do not bother with the textbook questions unless you need practise!

Great prof! Awesome notes and reviews from past midterms, which are really helpful!Get Dr. Oakley, Power, or Bissonnette. Avoid Dara Gilbert and Tchir at all costs!!

Hands down, the best CHEM prof ever. A wonderful man that wanted his students to be sucessful. He actually broke the math down (not huge strings of equations). He was teriffic. I am happy for him that he has moved on to better things, but wish I could still get him for a CHEM Prof. Best wishes Dr. Oakley!

Oakley seemed like a nice guy and his course notes were pretty thorough but i didn't find the lectures helpful in learning course material. If you want a good mark go to the tutorials instead (or as well) as lectures and do the practice exams and online assignments over the stuff in the text book. Oakley offers lots of old exams, use them to study!

His slides are great, especially since they are available on his website. Material is pretty boring, but he tries to make it interesting. He'll always take the time to help you clear up things you don't quite get.
