I had this professor for Film and Literature. He's an expert. Midterm and Final Exams required 12 written pages each. The book was only useful for key terms and topics on the exam. He assigns a reading each week. Make sure you read it because you are quizzed at the beginning of class. I got a C because of not fully reading material for quiz.

This is my second class with this teacher. The majority of his assignments are written (15 pages typed Mid-term and Finals for both classes), but if you show up and complete the doable assignments you will walk out of his class with an A. He may be stuck in the past a little bit, but he still gets the material across relatively easy.

Professor Preissle is a good professor to have. He keeps things lively, relates the material to the real world, and is a good lecture. His tests/quizzes are straight forward. His project is lined up where an A is possible even if you have a bad team member. His class isn't the easiest for an A, but passing is pretty easy.

Very entertaining guy. Keeps your interest during the class even though the class material is somewhat boring. If you make it to every class, take good notes, and read all assignments, you'll do well in his class.
