Took him Spring '18 for ENC 1102. His class really helped me become a better writer, and gave us a good opportunity to become knowledgable on a topic of our choice. He is very accessible, easy to talk to, and actually cares. Would definitely recommend.

If you really want to learn how to write this is your guy. Although he gives a lot of hw, it helps with your grade and he gives very good feedback on your papers. Very accessible outside of class and a nice guy

As long as you do the homework, there is zero chance of you failing. Pretty easy class.

Do not let the amount of homework deter you from this professor. Professor Saba really cares about the material and his students. One of the few professors I felt I had a good relationship with. As long as you provide something interesting for the projects, his grading isn't too bad. I got an A the first time I took him and a B+ the second.

Professor Saba is a sweet guy that talks a lot. There are at LEAST two assignments on a weekly basis. He can be very understanding and he is willing to work with you once you are willing to put in the work!

He is a writer thus he has a lot of knowledge but gives way too much homework. if you have a lab, dont take enc 1101 with him. i had his class for this fall and he gives 3 portfolio assignments per week which are not that easy.

Regardless of all the homework he gives (something due almost everyday) and how he is a really tough grader, he really cares about your writing development and gives really really great feedback. His lectures can get boring though. You don't HAVE to get the textbook but I recommend it, it gives good writing tips.

Honestly one of the best teachers at FIU. I took him for both ENC1101 and ENC1102. There is a lot of homework, almost everyday, but its really easy. He just wants you to practice writing. You'll definitely notice an improvement in your writing skills after taking his class.

I think Robert Saba was an excellent teacher, and honestly I didn't even pass his class. He does give a lot of work, so expect to be on your A game at all times and does give a lot of lectures. He is open to listening to your opinions and gives good feedback; I didn't pass because I didn't feel very motivated in his class so I rarely did any work.

This man is honestly the worst professor I've ever had in my experience, get used to reading from the book because it's equally just as boring and monotoned as him. The work-load was way too high for an ENC1101 class and he goes on and on rambling about random things in life that seem to be intertwined with the actual class itself. DO NOT TAKE!!!

Great teacher, took him for two back to back semesters. I ecommend doing the hw in one sitting with no editing besides your basic spellcheck. He just wants you to write for practice, theres no need to take hw too seriously (just do it) or you'll fall behind in other classes. Focus your energy mostly on the three major papers.

I see a lot of bad reviews for Robert Saba and I wonder why he gets these. He isn't a 10/10 teacher but he definitely teaches well and gives excellent feedback. The lectures are a little boring but they definitely teach you. If you pay the class the attention it deserves he'll like you. If you don't expect him to not like you.

Ridiculous class, homework every single day and he is extremely rude when giving feedback on projects but never replies to emails if you have questions about something. If you're taking other classes and have a life don't take him

This class is so exhausting! there is homework every single day on turnitin like we don't have other classes and assignments to do! I don't understand why there are so many great reviews I mean I don't expect to have no work at all but papers do every single day is a bit unrealistic. I'd take another professor to be honest

1 exploratory essay, 1 public writing, 1 oral presentation, and the final research paper. All on one topic so pick one you like. Aside from that, almost daily homework. It sometimes helps you not procrastinate on the essays, though. Overall helpful, just changes his opinions on your work after you submit it. TAKE HIM IF YOU DONT MIND WORK

Everyone complained that he was really rude to them, but personally he was always nice. The only real problem I had was that no matter how hard I worked, it always seemed like he LOOKED to deduct points. In the ETERNAL portfolio assignments, which I did all off, he did not give me the full points and instead graded things like 94.3 instead of 95

I passed the class, but one thing I never understood was the fact that he had us write the 3 main papers in parts and would give me A's on every section of my essay then when I turned in the final paper he would give me a C and comment something like "the intro doesn't make sense" or "your topic seems over-exaggerated" WHY NOT TELL ME THAT BEFORE?!

I suggest not taking ENC 1102 with this professor. Personality he was very rude to me and when I would ask him to explains something he would find a why to "lecture" me about the question I was asking. If he does not like you, which happened with me, he will not help you and will grade how he feels.

I highly recommend this professor! The class consists of two papers and an oral presentation, which are completely doable. He's very nice and will give you help when needed. The only downside the the portfolio- the assignments are easy but it needs to be kept up with.
