I love this guy. Very entertaining lectures. Likes to say "and all that crap" a lot. Fair tests. Only one midterm, one final, and two easy worksheets. He has a great sense of humor. Go to lecture, and you will be prepared for the tests.

This prof does not deliver a coherent lecture. It seems hard taking notes in class, but they prove very helpful when doing assignments, and the take-home final. Don't get bogged down in Pol 51 - it will make more sense when you are finishing the major.Jackman is probabally the easiest of the professors teaching Pol 51, but lecutres are irritating.

Very nice teacher and funny at times. His lectures are SO boring. Most of the stuff is in the book. No tests, just 4 assignments and take-home final which you can get an easy B on w/out going to class. Going to discussions or office hours will help you get an easy A.

Great lectures! He just gets up in front of class and talks for the whole time. I know some people hate that but hey, this is college and that's what I came here for so to me and anyone else that likes that it's great. The lectures are very interesting even after you've taken 4 years of poli sci classes. Highly recommended teacher!!!

Jackman is a really cool guy and a good professor. He explains the reading very well and as a result you don't have to do too much of it, just skimming will do the job. If you go to class everyday you will have no problems with his tests(he only has two, midterm and final, and no other work)

Jackman's a truly nice guy. He's super smart and I think that's part of the problem. There is no way we can be on par with his knowledge of the subject matter. He's not a bad professor but his classes are extremely hard. go to office hours and get to know your T.A. no matter what.

Positive: Very nice, some great stories, and wonderful New Zelander accent/sense of humor. Negative: Stat theory, what could be worse? His lectures are a bit incoherent and as long as you read the text or google terms (as I did) you'll be fine. He talks in circles at time, but I know he's knowledgable in the subject, doesn't know how to convey it.

Nice guy, and extremely knowledgeable. Lectures a bit long and quite boring, yes; however, still can be interesting at times. Relatively straightforward class, with one mid-term, a final, and no essays or assignments. Says "right" a lot when lecturing, but overall, he's a pretty decent professor.

What a waist of time, he bables all day in class about random BS. Don't! waste your time in class, just read the book and turn in the assingments when they are due and and leave. The work load itself is actually really easy but the only problem of his class is that you don't know what he wants.

Terrible but required class. The professor is a incoherent lecturer. There was also a strange assortment of short exercises for assignments. However, despite getting an F on assignment, I still got a final grade of an B+. Must visit TA OFFICE HOURS! TAs grade everything!
