Took C under the guy as a soph and he forgot one thing - to teach us C programming!!! So our project was to write a C program modelling an OpAmp. We had no clue what an OpAmp was, since we were to learn about them as Juniors! He spent the whole semester teaching us about OpAmps, which noone learned anyway. Swore never to take him again, but he switched over the summer so had him for C++ as well. Noone in that class knew C (they had had him), so he taught us C in the C++ class. What a waste as a teacher.

Pettus is a bumbling moron. He brags about his experience and maturity, but if he actually possessed either of those qualities, he'd try to pass them along to his students. Instead he just philosophizes in class and insults those who apparently intimidate him. This class is a huge waste of time.

Not a very good professor. I learned a lot about Meyers Briggs. I'm an ENSP or something like that. If you want to learn something wait until he retires (within the next year or two). I would do the "suggested" work or the work that he thinks "would be real cool." Go to his office and talk to him once a week and ASK for an extra assignment.

By far one of the worst instructors I've ever had. If you are looking to actually learn how to program you won't get it listening to this guy. He spends the entire class rambling about irrelevant things and then gives ridiculous assignments. If you see his name by a course, run the other way.

Terrible teacher.Worst teacher I have taken by far.Don't go to class, just go to fail the tests and thats it..automatic C.If you go to class and try then you will still get C and will have wasted your time.

This class would be a lot easier and probably a fun course if not for Dr. Pettus. He's a highly intelligent man with noone at home to talk to. Here is a tip. If you do the "Suggested" Extra credit and "Homework 19" he will pass you.

Great teacher if you care about Mazlo's hierarchy of need and Meyers Briggs...otherwise he is the worst teacher ever

Extremely Vague, Non helpful, Quizzes and tests are impossible, usually gives one or two A's for a class even if everyone works hard. However, he is a good and decent man morally.

for a class called computer modeling of electrical systems, programming ought to be what is taught..not history or philosophy
