Coming from the engineering school, this was a very unusual class. HW's are given a 1-5 grading scale, which makes it hard to see where you stand in the class. His lectures are just as confusing and disorganized as his textbook. I studying a lot for his tests and put in a lot of effort but still ended up with a B+.

Thornton is the best teacher I've had so far at Lehigh. He provides lots of in-class examples and makes sure each student knows exactly what's going on. Class can get a little boring but that's just statistics. You don't even have to read the textbook, as long as you pay attention EVERY CLASS and do the homework you should do great!

I loved this class despite the difficulty of it. Thornton is a great teacher and explains it well and ultimately sets you up to succeed. The textbook readings are as important as lecture. Weekly problems sets, quiz, two midterms, and final. Carefully do the problem sets.

Thornton is by far the best Eco 45 teacher. He explains the material the best and is the most passionate guy ever. He walks into class with the best attitude like he was put on this earth to teach statistics. Pretty easy as well, just take notes, study problems, show up to class and you'll do fine. The final is a hard but thats statistics.

Thornton is the man! He knows his labor economics, the homework assignments are pretty short and easy, and he doesn't surprise you on the exams. As a bonus, he doesn't spend the whole semester espousing the glory of the FREEEEE MARRRKETTT like most of the other economics professors. Take his classes!

One of the best professors i've had. I suck at probability but he was able to teach it so that even I could understand it. The tests are straight forward, he doesnt try to trick you or anything. Takes his time to answer your questions. Problem sets are time consuming but really help you learn the material. Highly recommend him for Eco 145!

AWESOME PROFESSOR! Lectures are informative, useful, and even interesting. He takes a boring subject and makes it interesting. Tests are very, very reasonable. If you do all the homework and the readings, you should do fine. Best ECO145 professor in my opinion.

Thornton is the man, he is the best teacher for this course hands down, material can be dry and difficult sometimes, however he explains it clearly, the homework is reasonable and very helpful, his tests are very straight forward and fair.
