One of the most kind-hearted and understanding human beings I have ever known. Class is interesting as well. Pay attention to what he's saying in his review of the test materials the class before the exam; he is telling you what the exam questions will be on.

He is the worst teacher I have every had. His classes are all over the place and hard to follow. He is boring and does not teach well. He gives a 15 point curve on the test and yet 80% of the class fails. He is the only person who teaches the class...so good luck.

He has a bad reputation on this site, I was scared to take his class. I was pleasantly surprised. Common criticism is his lectures were all over the place, a few people complained and he fixed it. Tests were fair and not punitive. You MUST go to class and do the readings. Don't skip the films. He curves the exams too. Don't buy into the hate.

Had him twice, rants about silly things and near impossible consipiracy theories all of which he refuses to provide evidence on, passed every in our class with a C+ bc we argued a curve btwn a 65 and a 70 on essay tests are wrong if we all only understood 65 to 70 percent of his rants. be prepared to have your opinion be berated

"60% of you will fail this test" <-- that is absolute BS, he makes the exams far too hard. 30 questions on the most insignificant material in 2 different books, 2 movies, random articles, and lectures that don't pertain to anything that has been listed. loved the 15 point curve on the 2nd exam... yet most still failed, way to go Weiss!

Weiss, despite his hard tests and long lectures, means well. You do literally have to take notes on everything, but isn't that why you go to class? Do the readings and take notes...seems like college to me.

I hate him. He doesnt put any notes on the board. The tests are mostly from his lectures therefore your are required to write down everything he say which wouldnt be that bad but he jumps all over the place when he talks. Tests are extremely hard. I would say don?t take this class but it is required for all CJ majors. GOOD LUCK

He is a good professor! Do the readings and study for the quizes and tests and you will do fine! Not as bad of a class as everyone makes it out to be. He's very knowledgeable and knows his stuff. One term paper due at the end of the semester. Good Class!

He is a smart guy but a horrible teacher..his lectures jump around and he talks a million miles an hour and he never writes anything down. He will give you the questions a head of time for the tests and i studied so hard and answered them fully and failed...hes horrible

He is not that bad of a teacher. I had him and on the day of the midterm I asked for an extension because I found it hard. He allowed it. Also he was very helpful in Exams. He gives you the questions a week before so you can prepare. Anyone who says is bad and critisizes him is because they probably never went to class and failed. He is a great 1!!

SOC 202, 350, 353. Weiss is a competent and knowledgeable professor/doctor. He is widely published and deserves more respect than the students give him. The insolence of these illiterate dissenters is unwarranted and undeserved. The man is smarter than you. Remember that when you file for unemployment.

Absolutely worthless. Says "um" a calculated average of 3.16 times per minute. Discusses almost nothing pertinent to the class. Has strong opinions about every topic and refuses to hear any other points, valid or not. It's frankly a waste of the college's money to pay him. I would avoid any class with his name after it at all costs.

Dr. Weiss was my favorite professor when I attended school there. I thought he was an incredible teacher. If you ask me, I think many students don't care enough about doing well in school and that's why they don't do well. His tests came right out of the reading! He is excellent!

WORST TEACHER EVER! Class was always 10 mins long-no test review, impossible tests and quizzes,didn't learn a thing related to the topic,not helpful and mean. final is impossible and the class is dull-don't bother reading b/c nothing he assigns is ever on the test-DON'T WASTE UR TIME

His tests R 80% outside readings that you will get wrong no matter if U study. I dont know why we even go 2 class. I aksed a ? about if something was going 2 be on a test he said no and it was. I think hes a burnout. some1 said your lucky 2 pass w/ a C, I shoulda took that into consideration. DONT TAKE HIM! ITS A WASTE OF UR TIME, CREDITs, N MONEY!
