Quite an interesting class, filled with an incredible breadth of information on International Law. It's certainly not easy (there are many readings, and you MUST read them prior to an exam) but you gain a great deal from taking it. There's 1 paper and 2 shorter essays as well as a Midterm and a Final exam. Read, take great notes and you'll be fine.

Dr. Teske's international law class was one of the most interesting yet intensive I have ever been in. Do not let that scare you away! She is very helpful in class and no question is a stupid one to ask. Tests are open note and open book so show up to class!!

If you put in the time and the work you will get an A or B. I had her for both Int'l law and relations and she is a great teacher. You will need to get ready to read. For international law we had over 75 articles to read. Two tests that are MC and 3 papers. Take her! The information you learn is unparalleled anywhere else.

Dr. Teske is an amazing professor. I took her for IR and Int'l Law and she's definitely my favorite professor at JMU. Her classes aren't easy, but it's so worth it. She's incredibly smart and clearly loves teaching, and she's had so much experience that she can tell you about. Take her, you won't regret it!

Great class! I definitely learned more than I expected. You have to pay attention in class to take notes. She gives an outline in the beginning of every class. There are no quizzes. Basically, you have two papers, two midterms, and a final. You absolutely have to study for the tests. I studied a lot the lecture notes, the textbook, and the ARTICLES

Dr. Teske is very smart and very experienced at teaching this subject! There are a LOT of lecture notes, a lot of online readings, and the tests are challenging. You need to go to class and do the online readings, or you will fail, but you will learn so much about International Relations! Take her!

Teske is SO SMART. She has tons of experience & is very clear about what you need to know in the lectures. Sure there are tons of readings and the tests are multiple choice A-G, but if you go to class, take notes, and do the readings, you'll be fine. I never read the text book & got a B. It's a lot of work but I'd take her again!

Dr. Teske is easily one of my favorite teachers. She talks fast and doesn't use power points during lecture but she repeats things often so you can get your notes down. You take three tests and a final but she drops your lowest test grade. If you study hard and pay attention a good grade is definitely possible. Lots of reading but its manageable.

Seems strange to be rating Dr. Teske a full 20 yrs after my very 1st class with her. I started out a POSC major, took her Int'l Relations course and was hooked; ended up double majoring in POSC & IA. Took 3 classes w/ this amazing woman. Yes, she will challenge you, but you will learn a ton. I had some great profs at JMU, but she was the BEST.

Awful unless you are the best multiple choice test-taker in the world. Prepare for A, B, C, D)a, b, E) b and b, F) a, b d G) all of the above and H) none of the above test answers. Yes, Teske is infamously difficult to the extremely large amount of readings she assigns and her A-G tests. Granted it's a lot of work, but if you time manage you'll be okay. Last, you can't hate her or the class because it's so interesting! TAKE HER!

Seminar with Dr. Teske was fun because you discuss everything and get really close with your other classmates. But the class itself was HARD. Teske is known to assign a lot of reading. She wants you to do well, but has very high expectations for your papers, and is a really hard grader. So put the work in, don't put it off.

Dr. Teske is a fantastic teacher. She is friendly, intelligent and helpful. There is a lot of work, but this is college- what do you expect? Tests are easy if you actually do the reading and study. I highly recommend her International Law classes. I will be trying to take another IR class with her this upcoming semester.
