Half of you will take him and pass and the other half will either drop out or fail. I'm not going to sugar coat it, his exams are the hardest thing i've experienced. Yeah his grading scale is curved but thats because he knows his exams are impossible to pass. They consist of few MC but mostly short answer. Study EVERY book practice problem.

Organic Chemistry is difficult. It involves doing a lot of homework to understand concepts and additional memorization of chemical reagents and structures. Thats the class, not the teacher. Dr D is very accessible and his lectures always contain interesting information about the reagents/products. His exams are mostly straight from the book.

avoid taking him at all costs his class is like learning 2+2 in class and then having to solve derivative problems on the test

Taking this professor made more serious in my academic career. He basically pulls problems/figures from the book and puts them on the test. His lectures are very clear. If you are someone who is intelligent and can memorize/apply lecture information really well, there is no need to do all of the book problems. Take this class with him and study.

This professor is a total genius! Premeds who want to do well on the MCAT i suggest you take him. This is not an easy course but if you actually wanna understand and learn the material, take him. His grading scale doesn't make it too hard to get a decent grade plus 95% of the problems on the exams are from the textbook, SO DO EVERY PROBLEM!

He knows his stuff but if you don't know it you're most likely not getting your 2.0 that you at least need. Pre-Meds who need 3.0 take it somewhere else

Being a Biochemistry major on a full-ride academic scholarship, I'm fine at any level class. Orgo2 is meant to be a very difficult class; however, Dembinski's exams have proved impossible for even the top students. Class avg: near 40% for all exams. If you want a shot a med/nursing school: listen to my advice and take elsewhere.

Worst professor. If you wanna know your material for your standardized test, you can take any other prof, if you put in the time, you'll learn it. His exams are IMPOSSIBLE. Even people who knew their crap barely got 70%. It was his first time teaching a summer course and was absolutely HORRIBLE at it. Usually gives xtra credit, none, no curve.

He does not give any partial credit points back on exams so it makes it very difficult to score high on exams. He had two first time teaching internteaching our lecture so a majority of the class was basically lost the whole time. We brought this to his attention and he did not seem to care.

Dr. Dembinski is highly knowledgeable. If you are looking for an easy A do not take him; however, if you are trying to really learn the material for the MCAT,PCAT,OAT,DAT, etc, then consider Dr. Dembinski. Taking him in the summer if difficult and I would not recommend it unless you are a good student. Difficult class but feasible to do well.

This is already a very challenging class and taking it during the summer did not make it any easier. Going to class and doing ALL the book problems are keys to success! The exams are very heavily based on the book, and often there will be exact problems on the exam. Put in the work and you should do well. A challenging but not an impossible class.

This professor is really funny, but the point is he cannot teach. He has a very odd accent that makes understanding harder. During the second week of orgo 2, he decided it was appropriate to take a vacation and have 2 other student instructors teach the class. Do not take with him. Look elsewhere. We were screwed by OU as we had professor Stamper.

He is the worst when it comes to organic chemistry. He turns an already hard subject into your worst nightmare. Be ready to put in a ton of hours. You have to read the book follow along to get a decent grade. Lots of reaction memorization. If you hate organic chemistry, do not take it with him.

Prof dembinskis lectures never made sense to me so i had to read the book and do problems to figure it out on my own. The averages on his exams were 40s and 50s which is about what i was getting. Go to class because he gives pop quizzes that end up being extra credit which helps a lot. I ended with a 3.0 in the class

You really have to work for a good grade in this class. I read every chapter and did every problem in each chapter as well as made flashcards and studied almost daily and still got in the 80s on the exams and an 80 on the final. This is not a class you can cram for but he makes that clear. Quizzes are extra credit and pretty easy, be prepared.

He has a great sense of humor and is very approachable in class and in his office hours. He gives weekly pop quizzes which serve as extra credit at the end of the semester; however, the tests are challenging and written. They require a lot of practicing questions at the end of the chapter. Give yourself time in advance to study.

This is a very challenging course. Go to class, there are pop quizzes that contribute to your grade. Dr. Dembinski is an awesome person. This class requires much self motivation and practice alone. Buy the textbook and solution manual, they are essential for success. Do EVERY PROBLEM in the textbook, they often show up on exams.

Easily the best chem instructor I have had. Funny, interesting, very helpful (great office hours), gives extra credit. Partial credit is abundant if you study and actually write something. You can also go and argue points back (he won't take any away). He genuinely wants you to learn the material. Take his class, you will learn something.
