Really great professor, provides notes before and after class. You honestly don't even need to show up to the lectures most of the time. The course itself is extremely easy, You can expect maybe 30-60 minutes of study time per day for this course. I think most people ended up with an A or A+.

He is an excellent instructor. He went out of his way on multiple occasions to explain the concepts in a way that every student should have understood it. The course can be tricky since most CS students are not good at math (Unfortunately). Due to him trying to accommodate all students, the course pace can be slow and fewer concepts are covered.

This is a good prof, although his accent may influent your undertsanding of the material, but if you are willing to ask anything you dont understand during, dont hesitate, do it, his answer would help you a lot. Get ready to study this course, 2130 is not a easy course, but not hard either. :)

Nice prof who is always willing to help if you need it! I feel like people are rating him low because of the difficulty of the course, not his teaching abilities. He provides TONS of examples in his notes, so many that the textbook is actually quite worthless. If you want an A/A+ , make sure you study a few hours EACH DAY for this class alone!!

He's good at teaching. Goes into detail so that you're not left with any doubts. Knows the material well. Though, this is quite a boring course, and you most prolly could do without the book, coz his style of in-class fill-up notes is fairly fine, I think this is as good as somebody can do, to teach a boring course like this. Overall, he's good!

Extremely good professor. His notes are pre-written but he will add stuff to them in his lectures. He also posts all of his notes online, and they are VERY thorough with lots of examples. Speaks very clearly and doesn't rush through the material, genuinely wants every student to pass.

Prof. Thulasiram is what most profs should strive to be. He has a genuine caring attitude for his students, and wants to see them do well. Hes VERY helpful during office hours if you have any questions. For a dull, challenging course, he facilitates learning with powerpoint lecture notes, combined with in-class, fill in the blank style notes.

Helpful if you go see him in office hours. His lectures are painfully dull. He got very behind and ended up rushing through the last several units. His explanations are sometimes unclear. Assignments were not too hard. And the final grades were definitely curved.

Hard to understand at times. Wears a microphone that is never on... so it's pointless. Classes are long and dull -- hard to pay attention in. Will spend an entire class doing 2 examples for an entire topic and then move on to the next. Assignments are redundant it seems as though most people in the class were unprepared for the midterm exam.

My experience in this class was very unfortunate. His lectures are boring, he talks around the point and doesn't drive home important topics - tends to ramble. The assignment had many redundant questions. The class is easy but he made it harder than it should've. Be sure to check your assignment feedback! Mine was graded incorrectly multiple times.

Nice guy. Kinda funny. Approachable. However, his lectures leave something to be desired. His assignment questions were a good test of the material but if he would spend his lecture emphasizing the key concepts instead of rushing through uninteresting proofs with little explanation he would be a great prof for this course, instead of just average.

lectures were not very good as his examples were poorly explained. found his online notes much more useful. assignments were quite long and i often felt i was teaching myself the course as most of the question material was not touched upon in class/notes (except for final assign., where many of the questions had similar examples in notes)

Terrible. Helpful outside of class but his lectures were useless. Very poor explanations and can be hard to understand at times due to his accent. He uploads his notes as powerpoints online which are the only reason I could do well in the course. The powerpoints are much better than his lectures.

Great guy, enjoyed his lectures. If you can't understand him well, sit at the front row. Assignments don't make sense? Go to his office hours, he is always willing to help. I get the impression that those having difficulty with his courses simply don't put in the work required to succeed in University in general. Tough'n up this isn't preschool.

The biggest issue for me is that, while the online notes were clear, when doing the assignments, there was nothing that even showed any semblance to what we've already done in the course, required in depth explanation the class before the due date in order to allow for students to finish, which was extremely frustrating. Avoid

The class was easy, he knew his stuff, and was able to explain when some of the people in the class were unable to comprehend the subject. He gave a lot of assignments, but they were easy and didn't take too long. His notes were posted online, and you don't need the book if you read them.
