This class was incredibly tough for me, and she spoke to us like we were all going to be accountants. When people asked questions, she would expect them to just figure it out themselves. Her exams were tough, and she graded our one computer assignment harshly for small errors. I learned more studying alone in my book than in class.

She probably is really good at higher accounting classes but she teaches her 200 course like we're all in the major. Random graded quizzes on chapters, online hw, 1 midterm and 1 final, 6 chapters each. The exams are way too long (like 14 pages long) and very hard. If you do take her, join a tutoring club or make a study group with others.

Nice lady but terrible teacher. Instead of breaking the material down, she makes it harder for you to understand. I always studied and struggled throughout the course of the semester. Find another prof

The most terrible professor I've had. Not helpful. Had an excel assignment which she wouldn't offer any help on and said we should already know how to do it, when MIS100 isn't required for this course. Her tests are extremely hard and doesn't offer any kinda of guidance before the exam. Office hours, better make an appointment or she wont see you.

Pelfrey is a really great teacher. She expects you to read the material before class and only teaches the numerical stuff, not really the definitions and concepts. Its a difficult class but she goes over lots of problems and makes sure her students understand the material. The textbook is required because there's online homework but its really easy

Worst Professor i have ever had. Do not take her for Accounting 1000. Teaches like she is talking to accountants. Very strict on assignments. Got one part wrong out of a huge assignment and forgot the $ signs and received 25/75 points. She is rude when you ask her questions as well

Professor Pelfrey is a great professor. The class itself is pretty tough, but she is very helpful and thorough when she explains the material. The online homework also serves as an aid. There is about one quiz per week on each chapter, two midterms covering about four chapters each, then a cumulative final. Ask a lot of questions and you'll do well

Professor Pelfrey is great! Goes over what you need to know for her quizzes and exams, the homework you do in class prepares you well for these! I wouldn't skip but she doesn't take attendance. Let's you drop a quiz and replace the quiz grade with online extra homework! This class is very easy to pass if you put in the time

Pelfrey really cares about her students learning the material and will answer all your questions until you understand the subject matter. There is weekly h.w and quizzes but they're pretty easy if you understand the material. She also drops a quiz grade and gives you a chance to drop another one if you do extra work.

Prof. Pelfrey is great. All of these negative ratings of her are probably from lazy students. She simply wants you to work for your grade and is very willing to help. ACC 200 is a not an easy class but Pelfrey makes it possible. Show up, pay attention, ask questions, and do the homework she assigns. Do that, you'll be fine.

Acc 200 is a hard class, but she was such a good teacher I ended up deciding to go forward and pursue a degree in accounting. You need to read the book, and the first few chapters are most important. If you dont understand them, you will fail the class. Go to the tutoring center! She is helpful if you go to office hours and wants to see you succeed

Would never recommend Pelfrey. Last two tests the average was not passing. Very frustrating because she does not explain what is going to be on the exams.

Most professors appreciate it when they see students putting effort into their class. NOT HER!!! Expect to spend at least 20 hours per week aside from her 2 hour "lectures". You have to teach yourself EVERYTHING. Our whole class is failing (with the exception of about 5 ppl) in a 60 person class. STEER CLEAR OF HER

Do everything in your power to avoid this professor. The majority of our class regrets having her. She NEVER teaches anything that will be on an exam. The exams are completely random and different and you'll never know what to expect even if you attend EVERY class.

Her grading is ridiculous. She says that she will find points for you, but she does not. You either get all points, or no points. She also demands questions, but will often deem them unworthy of an answer. She is a nice lady, but a terrible professor. I highly suggest looking elsewhere, if possible. She should be a final resort.

I remember having this professor and she was absolutely the worst. She never helped students when they went to her after class. And she was always - and I mean always- out on coffee breaks during her office hours. No help here. My class and I learned everything on our own, barely passed- many failed.

I COMPLETELY AGREE with the two posts under me. I took this professor for ACC200 and I learned ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. What a waste of time and money. I was there for every single class, and TRIED to get help from her but she NEVER helped me. So far the whole class failed like D's and F's both her exams, so I'm really nervous for the final exam.

The biggest regret in my college career was taking this professor. She doesn't teach from the book. She picks random problems to do that are nothing like her exams. She messes up while doing simple addition and multiplication problems; while using a calculator. Her exams are awful and resulting in a failing class average.

This professor does NOT teach. If you ask her questions and you don't understand her reply, she will yell at you and humiliate you in front of the whole class. Never uses the book to teach, only uses it for some example problems. No reviews, no feedback, no help with projects, and no office hours. Avoid her at all costs.

Professor Pelfrey provided a real-world experience of what it is like to be an accountant. She doesn't have generous "office hours" because at this stage in the game, the students are supposed to competent enough to succeed without the professor holding their hand. As per the usual, read before class. Regret? Not asking polish cutie out ;)
