Has knowledge but should return to teaching school. Lectures are all over the place. Kiln lecture was a mess, preceded by a 10 minute rant about being prepared (?). Responses to student questions border on rudeness. Hard to get help in class-too many students plus spends too much time w answers. Can't wait for this class to end.

Sarah is passionate about ceramics and this comes through in her teaching. She is no-nonsense and is very clear about what is expected of her students. If you listen to her lectures, arrive on time to class and put in an honest effort, you will do fine. Expecting an easy A? You have another thing coming. Fools are not suffered here.

Everything here said is true. But I think she has chilled a bit over the years. If she makes an example out of you just gently call her on it. Don't be an idiot though either she doesn't suffer fools kindly. Besides she deals with 'art' students and has heard every bit of lazy and lame BS in the book.

As a person Coote is a shroud with what seems like a chip on her shoulder. As a teacher she is next to none. She is well educated and passionate in her work and art and she will whip you into shape you best believe it. Go into this class with an open mind and do not take her remarks personally.

She hadn't taught drawing for a long time,so her lessons were disconnected and hard to follow,but eventually she got her point across.She had a bad habit of giving extra lesson instructions after half the class had left and she often would ask for one thing but grade according to another.Get on her good side.Do not come in late-she won't forgive

First impressions count with her, don't ever come late to her classes or you'll be black-listed. She's good at what she does, sometimes it takes a while to understand her attitudes and behaviours. She'll drill into your head what you need to know, but keep at it and you'll learn lots.
