Dr. Davis is an intimidating presence with a brazen sense of humor, extremely quick mental math, and a truly kind heart. If you want to learn chemistry - or learn about life - look no farther. His passion is contagious, and he cares about each one of his students. This is not an easy A, but it is a course and a professor you will not regret.

He was a really hard teacher. His tests were always difficult and he expected you to think outside of the box for answers and then apply what he taught you to your answer. He is big on logic as opposed to straight memorization. He was a good teacher though, and I learned a lot through his class. The book is a must. He assigns homework every chapter

You will think he's rude. You will want to drop out of your major. Don't. Give him more than one semester. It's a test. He's smarter than you think. He'll inspire you and give you the necessary skills to become a good scientist. Don't waste his or your time. Have thick skin and be confident.

The material covered in class was rarely relevant on exams. Mostly an independent course, which makes me question why a professor is being paid to teach it. Unclear and very contradictory. Do not raise your hand in lecture; he'll waste your time by embarrassing you. 'Stupid questions' do exist in this course. Watch out!

Took this class thinking it would be a review from high school. He taught it different than I learned it, which gave me trouble. He also expects you to read the book and study that, what you go over in class is basically just an outline of the material. Exams are much more thorough than quizzes and cover multiple chapters at a time. Study and read!

He is an awesome teacher. I had him at MU and I ended up transfering and wish I never left. he uses the book which is awesome. and If you need help o to him. he'll make you remember that stupidest things.. example "ice, ice baby" hahah I NEVER forgot that!

Dr. Davis is dedicated to teaching the students as much as possible, and takes it personally when someone does bad. Unlike other teachers who will pity-pass a student, he will make you work hard for a good grade, but if you do everything the class requires you'll be fine. If your lazy, you won't make it.

His class is ridiculous. He teaches as if you already know everything and it's all review even though to the majority of the class it's not. He literally skims over lectures where he thinks you should already know everything. If you're not a chem major, good luck.

The course isn't curved. Homework isn't an accurate reflection of exam difficulty. Exams should be shorter. Anywhere from 5-10 points on an exam will be on information we barely/never covered in lecture. "Read the book!" Then why is attendance required if I can teach myself? On the positive side, he is a clear and concise lecturer.

Davis is an amazing Prof. He Will do everything but hold your hand and do it for you just to make sure you understand. He is very willing to help and makes good use of the $100+ text book that we need. Even if you're not a major I reccomend having a class with him!!

wow why is this guy teaching a class? just give me a book and the homework problems and i would be better off saving time going to his class. Explains things so fast and doesnt cover things in your book that he assigns for homework. So im stuck trying to figure problems out, spends class time having fun not teaching you how to learn chemistry.

He really keeps things interestig and he makes you work your butt off, but in the end it is worth it. If you do the homework and study for the test you will get a good grade. His only downfall is that he hums "Another One Bites The Dust" before every test!!!!
